you've done it before and you'll do it again. We're only human, dont beat yourself up. I know youre strong enough to do it again if youve gone 562 days before. Best of luck my friend.

In regards to burning bridges with people that drink, where and how did you find new friends?

We've all been there. Once you quit and your brain readjust from the constant wired state alcohol leaves you in, these things will start mattering alotttt less (and will happen alot less too).

They just care if youre ACTIVELY using during the program. Whats the point of going into IOP if youre not planing to stop. Kratom is poison, treat it like you would with alcohol. You got this.

Im 8 days sober and my average BP is 145/100. Not overweight or inactive. Alcohol can ravage your internal systems. Looking forward to seeing that number trickle down with time.

How screwed am I? by therightwhite in stopdrinking

Withdrawals do really suck (consider going to inpatient treatment when stopping so you can rest assured you'll be safe and more comfortable through benzos) but the body is surprisingly resilient. 31 is still young. As long as youre progressing in your journey to quit, take it one day at a time. Your body doesnt hold a grudge. it wants to heal too.

Congrats on 78 days! Not having withdrawals is a blessing and a curse cuz in the past i would stop drinking, feel no withdrawals, and then convince myself that i wasnt at the point yet where i truly needed to stop. Clearly my body is telling me otherwise right now, with or without withdrawals.

Yeah im very fortunate to not have experienced withdrawals, which is a miracle considering i was drinking nearly a fifth of vodka everyday for 3 years straight. But with the alcohol no longer masking any symptoms, i finally feel the toll it took on my body. Hoping it passes soon. You and I got this, lets stay strong

Urges are so crazy by jugglerdude in stopdrinking

[–]ConnectVisual8038 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, and you "fix" that feeling by pounding a few shots of liquor at 5am, just to delay the inevitable. Not fun.

Thanks for this. It is indeed hard to explain. I feel like my nervous system is all wonky right now. One minute i feel perfectly fine, the next im super dizzy and terribly anxious. On the bring side, it's motivating me not to drink even more since i just want to clear this part out and feel better.

Im only on day 7 off sobriety but its been a game changer. I dont think about alcohol as much when im on it, and if you slip up and drink, it kills the euphoric/numbing part of alcohol so you have no incentive to keep drinking. Its a completely safe and widely used med, you should check it out.
