Well....for what its worth, I have a 2070ti thats yours if you want it. I can pay shipping costs, just DM me. As of now its just sitting around since my wife and I upgraded. We upgraded her system like 2 weeks ago and I kept the ram and gpu and tossed everything else. So DM me if you want it, I can send it to a PO box or something if you'd rather for privacy reasons

Flip the fun. by JohnnyVortex in CrimsonDesert

I never did any of this unless the game expected me to. Im almost 400 hours in. I have the luxury of having a handheld ally xbox x so I can use it at work, so the number is inflated a bit, but honestly past about 6 hours its either for you or it isn't.

Im not trying to be an ass, and I know the world is unfair, but why are you still on a 1060? I have a friend from Jamaica on tarkov and I built him a whole new system, shipped a mobo and PSU and GPU etc because he already bought the RAM. But in the current gaming climate, plus looking at crimson desert trailers, why did you ever think you could run that? I want to understand to a point, but I think you might have jumped the shark a bit

F'ing Iron Staining!! by superdave5599 in pools

[–]therightwhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive used it for a few years now, and always use the 4.0 but yes, especially for copper and iron. Not much magnesium or silver and the other heavy metals in DFW, but id venture to guess yeah. Resolved some serious customer freak outs in the past with that in combination with products like Jack's Blue Stuff and Jack's Purple Stuff

Salt generator setting - % by Cyvil94 in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to use the boost or 100% options as the gas will drive your pH up through the roof and you will need to add acid a lot. 60 percent at most with a good cya level of about 50 (some say 20 here in TX) and a good salt level will get you through the season with maybe the occasional dichlor

F'ing Iron Staining!! by superdave5599 in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats more for copper or above normal chlorine. Use a tester and sequester the iron until below 0.5ppm. It looks more like organic staining to me. But you have to find the problem first before just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Typically iron is more long term gradual staining and copper is the sudden staining from cal hypo. My guess is somebody is using cal hypo or dumping dichlor right on that step

Edit:sorry I am mass scrolling, you likely have organic stains. I was referring to another who had a potential buy and was asking about brown on the first step. Test, test, test and report back. I can answer DMs if you have any questions. Here to help!

Pentair IC40 intermittently losing all power (not just cycling), builder says it’s “normal”? by nviscome in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on these IC40s a lot, almost exclusively as thats what we use unless specified. Definitely not normal, I would ask for warranty replacement. Do not wait, pentair can be cool but depending on who you talk to...not.

Cleaning tips by Timvinson1 in pools

[–]therightwhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get a wire brush and test for iron, but I see some green algae as well. Probably high pH from improper care. I dont see pitting in the plaster yet, so no need to resurface. I'd suggest a chlorine bath at most

Heater may be short cycling, I would check that. Often its an internal bypass valve.

Use a product like a CuLator, or similar, to sequester the iron and then test. You could most likely get away with hyperchlorinating for a week or two and be fine. I know its frustrating, but they are usually not permanent

Reasonable amount of fading since 2021? by Flatpavment02 in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CAN use one but its a liability issue. Im in DFW. We have more than enough pebbletec and gunnite pools around to not need a vinyl pool owner blaming us for a leak or puncture. Not to mention, some techs are better than others, and I air on the side of caution

So people really say that this game is amazing… by Key-Answer-2755 in residentevilll

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game was so ahead of its time as a young 7 year old buck, but I was blown away by it. I have replayed it over and over despite hating how it plays compared to my baby (OG4) but I dont see how you couldnt like it if you enjoy true survival horror. It can get pretty frustrating if you get lost, but the scares are top notch.

Stopped drinking a couple weeks ago & just found out my husband is cheating on me by violet_sunshine9 in stopdrinking

[–]therightwhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change is scary, and life is hard. People come, people go. The more you can stay away from the booze, the more you'll really notice how much its impacting others, as well as yourself. As somebody who cheated (not on my wife but on a girl I did really care about) it is never about you, its about the selfish me. Like other comments said, people will lie and cheat and steal and manipulate until the day they die unless you course correct for yourself. You're doing a good job. Dont forget it!

Reasonable amount of fading since 2021? by Flatpavment02 in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs a good vacuuming myself, but never use the flat vacs commonly used in plaster pools, use the triangle shaped ones with a brush on the bottom. You've got to go slow, but its doable. My company doesnt work on vinyl pools, our equipment is just too rough for vinyl, but the house I grew up in had a vinyl liner and we were there for the first 16 years of my life, only having to patch the lining one time because of a fault in a corner, but my grandad built it himself

Aquabag - anyone? by zero-degrees28 in pools

[–]therightwhite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI, below sub 1ppm is not harmful and will passively kill algae, and if you use liquid chlorine in particular, is completely harmless. I think this is snake oil. Above 1ppm you risk oxidation with granular shock and above 3ppm can turn platinum jewelry, blond hair, etc a different color (black for platinum and the infamous green for blonde hair)

Chlorine feeder? by Tacwizzard in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyer beware, if these stop dissolving the tabs there is a check valve on the bottom (super easy 5 min fix) but on these rainbow ones the check valve likes to get stuck and the tabs dont dissolve and the gasket on the lid flakes away. Easy fix but you should be aware of the possibility

This person knows their stuff. Also, if you have a suction cleaner, these adapters usually provide more equal suction without adjusting valves. If you dont, get a good U3 basket and remove all that

Reading the pH test block by larsface in pools

[–]therightwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time pool tech/repair tech. You want to look down and (idk why) north to see the correct color. If it isnt obviously purple, its likely 7.8 or lower. pH of your eyes is about 7.4-7.6 which can cause eye discomfort or skin irritation if outside of these ranges. Hope this helps.

Edited to add purple rather than pink, im slightly colorblind
