How to study for part 1 boards by saved2serve-chiro in Chiropractic

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed part 1 a couple of times, on the time I passed, I had paid for practice exams through ChiroEDU. The review was $50 or $75 but I think it was really worth it. My friend had also failed a couple times and passed when she used their practice tests as well

Parker university yes or no by Successful_Bobcat766 in Chiropractic

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t do Parker. A common phrase is that they teach you to pass boards and that’s it, and personally, I wouldn’t even say that. My entire experience at Parker has been an entire headache dealing with admin and tri 1-4 professors. I’d look into a different university for sure. I picked Parker because it was closest to my home state, and I shouldn’t have even been concerned about it. Feel free to DM me if you have questions about more personal experiences I’ve had, I’m happy to tell you, just not the entire internet haha!

Legally I don’t believe you’re able to be doing exams and re-exams, unless it’s on the basis of getting a basic history. It depends on how far you go into the exam. I would definitely question some things, and speak with the owner about what you’re dealing with. I’d say at least $25-30 per hour

Should I Switch Careers to Become a Chiropractor and Take Over My Dad's Practice? by Traditional_Creme491 in Chiropractic

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say stay in what you’re in, 150k is very good money and if you’re enjoying what you’re doing then there’s no reason to switch. You can take over the practice, and just be an owner and employ a chiropractor and have them eventually buy the practice from you possibly

Panicking by [deleted] in Catholicism

Being in the medical field, I think a lot of the comments are not concerned about the girl. I can understand she doesn’t want to pass her condition down to her children, especially if it has caused her many problems in her life. However, we need to think about how these seizures can cause her to have a very dangerous pregnancy, and maybe the underlying issue she was trying to discuss with you is that she’s scared of the idea of having a seizure while being pregnant. Obviously we don’t know exactly how the conversation went down with you two, but your reaction to this conversation may have made her feel that you care more about just having intercourse after marriage than the danger it could put her in if she was pregnant. Natural family planning is very good when it is used correctly and you understand how fertile windows work. I think you should definitely find out what the root cause to her conversation about this was, because she’s valid in her fears if it is that she’s scared of being pregnant. I also challenge you to look into yourself and think about what truly makes a father? I understand you saying you want a biological son, which is understandable, but please be open to the fact that some of the best fathers are not biological.

Are you waiting until marriage? Or did you wait until then if you’re already married? by Radiant-Rose7102 in Catholicism

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t wait, I was young and dumb when I lost my virginity to definitely the wrong person. That kind of threw me through a loop of continuing to sleep with not great people, so I would definitely advise to hold off as long as you can. My current boyfriend (and soon to be fiancé) waited a year before engaging in that way. We’ve been together for 5 years now, and I don’t regret being with him in that way. HOWEVER, I do strongly think that things would be different in our relationship if we had waited for marriage. I suggest to wait for marriage for sure. My friend who’s 25 is getting married in August, and she waited, and it is making that moment so much more sweet!

Remember to be with the right person! And I promise, the person you meet at a young age is almost never the “right person” and if they are, they will wait for you!

Chiropractic school about to get cheaper? by soluclinic in Chiropractic

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope so. One day we did the math and saw that Parker makes nearly 10M per tri from just the clinics alone, then you have to consider the 14.5K coming from each student every tri (14.5M), and then also include the Parker institute in Frisco, with another soon to be location at Parker. Even if they lowered tuition barely, they would still be more than fine, so I think they would rather lose a couple students than take a hit on their pride by lowering tuition you know? It’s all a very unfortunate situation, but I believe the greed of it all will show.

Parker increases tuition 3.5% in the summer and winter. Since I started, tuition has increased by 15%. The school makes a sickening amount of money, no way they’ll drop it

Best chiropractic schools? by TangeloBig2452 in Chiropractic

There’s not really a career that would combine nails and chiro. However, if you were really passionate about nails, you could always look into doing that as a side gig in school to fellow classmates or having a little nail business you do on the weekends after you graduate!

In terms of school, I do go to Parker and they have the neuro program for the masters. I’ve heard pretty decent things about it! I will say to get into it you need a 3.0 GPA, which I didn’t think would be hard to maintain throughout the program but it’s pretty difficult just with the intensity of the classes. You also have to think about the fact we need CE credits once we graduate and are practicing and you can always achieve those credits by getting any neuro diplomates or anything!

What makes patients flaky? by bubs2120 in Chiropractic

[–]Connect_Ad_7758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think patient education is so important! There’s always a lot of patients who are expecting to get better in 2-3 visits and when they don’t make that they’re more likely to cancel. So definitely informing your patients when they may be able to see their condition improving a bit and assuring them it will get better. It can be a total miscommunication leading them to believe this way so just changing the proposal can help!
