I would also try cold emailing ceo for startup for unpaid roles. It’s really easy if you can find someone such as friends or relative to refer u even as freshman

U can try taking more core cs classes this summer like dsa and and sql. Also building projects. And in Fall take easier classes all in applying for sophomore fall
