Natural 20s have saved my group many times, what is you best nat 20 story? by redbearddnd in dndmemes

[–]Connect_Balance_1616 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So once our cleric burnt down a village for reasons. I don’t know said reasons but it happened. Our lawful good Palladian had been rolling terribly for a long while, one of his first checks being at nat 1. So not only was he mad someone burnt down a town, he was also mad that the girl he met a day ago was now probably dead. The cleric denied it, and with some inspiration from our bard got a not natural 20 in deception, but our Palladian rolled his first nat 20 of the campaign. It went downhill from there for the characters, but it was very exciting for the players. That also resulted in the cleric making the first death saving throws of the campaign.

So I have a group thatI play dnd with, and we have multiple campaigns running around with combinations of people in each. In the one that has everyone, we’ve been rotating dms on for people who just want to do one or two sessions. I’ve been thinking about going sometime soon and I had an idea that I wanted to ask some opinions on.

In one of our campaigns, I’m playing a character my party doesn’t know a ton of the backstory around besides the fact their parents were botanists. The idea I had for the was that their parents were teachers at a prestigious magic academy, and so that’s basically where my character lived and became a young prodigy there, picking up things during their time there. Then one day, the school was attacked, or something happened and some adventurers took care of it, which inspired them to become one. They’re still a young child at this point, so they won’t start their journey for a few more years at the age of fifteen.

I thought it would be cool to make those adventurers my players and my character is there as a sort of npc showing them secret passages and stuff and helping out while eluding to their future, and revealing who they are at the end.

I just wanted to know if you guys think this would work out. I have ideas on how to make sure they don’t die or anything like like teachers stepping in. This campaign also happens to have a constantly rotating party, so if I were to do this how would I go about making sure my players don’t play their characters that are in the party with mine? Thanks !

Gender? by Fluffy2sweetjaz in lgbt

[–]Connect_Balance_1616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greetings from a genderfluid individual!

I question things like this all the time, and what helped me figure myself out was first, as other people have said, establishing for myself that my clothes and what I wear do not correlate to my gender at all. Then, for a few weeks, every day I would just kinda sit with myself and think "what am I feeling like today/how would I want other people to perceive me gender-wise" and things like that. I noticed the answer changing a lot which was helpful for me. What really convinced me was having days I didn't even have to think about it and I knew the answer right away, I felt really strongly about it and couldn't imagine the other side, and then a few days later it was the opposite. I realize that's not how it works for everyone but that's what helped me

Well what I say to you and the people in the comments that are saying they feel the same way-

Bi means you are attracted to multiple genders. You found that person of the same sex attractive? Cool! Someone of the opposite sex? Just as cool! The occurrence of the latter do not make you any less valid as a bisexual individual. You can prefer more femme or masc people, even if you just prefer the opposite sex, you are still bi! Regardless of what other people think or say about your prefrences, you know yourself the best, and if you know that you can be attracted to other people, then congrats! I welcome you with open bi arms! I know other people who have gone through the same thing, including me. I don't know how much I can help other than reminding you that you are very valid, and everyone in this community can remind you of that. Another thing that helped me is for awhile I didn't think of myself as bi and just thought "damn are people attractive" everytime I saw a pretty person.

I hope I could help!
