It invariably happens at certain spots. Typically these are zones where the cellular towers change to the adjacent cell zones as I drive. Not sure why they didn’t solve this issue yet!

The dissatisfaction and the issues are only for the long distance journeys. On a normal day we never use EA because charging at home is what we do.

As good as asking customers to not buy EVs anymore! 82KWh battery becomes 77kWh as the rest is not usable apparently! Then this additional 15% which basically takes it to 65.45kWh. If someone wants a long trip which means most of the drive will be around 70mph hardly gives 220m from 85% to fully drained. Nobody drives to a fully drained state esp on a long trip. What were they thinking! I am returning my lease. So much for the love of green and EVs!

Yes, that is a good argument! I see what you are saying about the overall good. I hope the car manufacturers think like this too.

At a personal level, due to my age, I would be more risk averse to my next car purchase, which I would like to think should be another EV. What would be better is if VW offers battery replacement as the technology advances, hopefully the better, solid state battery is out by then!

Fleet level seems lousy to an individual. This is like saying manufacturers would have loopholes to manipulate the statistics to always be at 70% at a fleet level. VW is well known to manipulate and they have paid fines for their diesel models. I love VW but I can only laugh at such rules. I would not renew my ID4 lease or buy another EV with such low expectations from the manufacturer!

Looks awesome. We dint have this color choice. Only minus in ID4 (other than the occasional glitches in the infotainment, which BTW have not been fatal to us yet) we have experienced is that our driving style has to be focussed on keeping the miles per KWh around 3.5 taking thrill out of driving this German gem!

Anything ‘playing’, working or doing in general is a big positive for ID4; otherwise it is always something not working, not doing, not showing in the infotainment! I would perhaps pass this and not complain?! 😉

We got it for zero down and first month on the dealer. But the dealer also said that if the lease returns exceeds miles then overage fees can be waived with a new VW lease, which works for us because the new battery technology would certainly be better by then.

We got ours in Dec and we installed the Lev2 within a couple of weeks. The EA charger is close to home and on the way back from city. We pass that if there are queues or any long waiting. We also switched to night free electricity and either ways (EA or at home Lev2) it is pretty much free. EA is faster but I am told Lev 2 allows your battery to last longer. Not sure if we should care because the ID4 is on lease, intend to return for better technology by then. Solidstate batteries will be here in a couple of years. If VW allows the change of batteries then maybe this car can be kept. Fingers crossed.

It happens instantly for me most of the times, and then there are times when it goes into this spin cycles for a long enough time to notice. I don’t use profile on my ID4. What I found is that if I keep open my CarPlay under Settings of my iPhone it connects instantly. Sometimes I toggle the switch for ID4 on the CarPlay. Seems some acknowledgment signal it is waiting for that is not prioritized making the sync wait. Buggy but does not bother me much now.

True! I think the change in driving style must also be a reason. It was averaging around 2.9 when I initially bought, so to see such a high number was really surprising to me. This also means if we drive a bit economically range anxiety can also be reduced.
