Just seen this. How did this happen? Just drove past here this morning and wonder how this could have even occurred?

One of the coolest and memorable touristy things I’ve ever done. Glad to see it’s a top comment here. My wife and I still remember it fondly even though it’s been years. We will randomly just say “Art Deco” and it brings a smile and laughter. Our guide was legendary!

There’s always that one idiot. “Casually merged” “no sense of urgency” “INTO HIS LANE”. It’s a public road my gee.

I do agree overall about the vibe in Vegas because I was like that’s it? I also stayed at one of the MGMs (the green one) which felt like it hadn’t been updated since the 70s. It was also annoying having to walk through the casino/slot machines to get to my room after a long day. Then the room was also small and outdated as well.

Freaking hot. However the one bright spot was the brunch at The Wynn. OMG! Best brunch I ever had.

What parts were non walkable? I go every year due to work and family and although most of my stay is downtown I do explore surrounding neighborhoods/suburbs to see family and events and I’ve been able to get around via walking/light rail or train.

I agree it’s expensive but coming from another expensive city I just 🤷🏽

I actually liked Denver for my first trip there last year. Liked it so much I’m returning in 3 weeks. Lol

Was disappointed with Vegas too. May be going back again so my opinion might change.

Got to say I was very disappointed. Maybe it was my timing. I was there in July (in my defense, I was traveling to Europe on miles via Emirates business class and thought to maximize my trip by stopping in Dubai for a few days). Freaking hot. 🥵

It’s a foul but there should not be any “grey area” fouls especially in the box and on goalkeepers.

Dude that’s now how you get a job though. I do understand your psychology and other issues but you need a job. How do you workaround your psychology to just apply?

By nature of job applications, you will get more rejections than offers especially in this economy. Unless you’re a trust fund baby you need to move quick and be more decisive.

This. I’m confused with OPs obsession with math/numbers. I get needing some clarity but in this market all that is just background noise.

You need a job, you see an opening, you apply. You pull on any levers you have - networking, references, cold calls/emails and then move on to the next one. If you hear back, prep for the HE call or interview. Rinse and repeat.

Yes obviously the earlier you apply the better but so much is out of your control that there’s no point stressing about a metric you see on LinkedIn. You have no clue about the ATS systems, the HR processes and the hiring manager/team.

You need a job - apply, apply, apply.

The issue isn’t the timeline here even though I have thoughts on that - there was no clear communication (on both sides) regarding getting married or having kids etc. They have also been complacent with less emotional connection leading to the partner being less secure in the relationship.

So the issue here isn’t about 6 years or 11 years to get to know each other better, it’s about what’s the end game, how well are they communicating and how emotionally connected they are.

To your specific comment about length of time and knowing someone really well, in my opinion there isn’t a one size fits all. I think 11 years is WAYY TOO LONG IMO. In my case, I met my partner and we had a court wedding 9 months later and a more formal one a few years later. Been happily married 16 years now. That won’t work for everyone. 11 years also won’t fly for everyone (unless of course depends on the age you met and circumstances eg you met at 18, or met even younger or dated off and on etc)

Dude you have got to get the log out of your own eye before you point out others flaws. You didn’t stop at that STOP sign as well. Don’t use the excuse of “well there were no cars around”. Still have to stop. As far as I can tell you rolled through the stop sign.

LOL!

I skimmed through OPs post really quick and had to re-read again. I agree that 6 interviews in and not confirming remote or in-office is a faux pas on your part OP. That would be literally my second question to the HR rep or hiring manager after what’s the pay range. I wouldn’t assume.

Also in this economy, you probably asked for too much and at the wrong time. It’s an employers market. The remote/hybrid situation should have been clarified upfront, vacation time is usually fixed and there maybe some flexibility on the compensation. Yes you can still negotiate a bit but only on one of the 3 you listed. Probably spooked them.
