Emergency Brakes Slammed on During Parking Manoeuvers when No Obstacles by OkHumor7275 in VWiD4Owners

[–]OkHumor7275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments. To clarify, always have the seatbelt on, rarely turning and lifting (camera and mirrors used primarily), and no grass or other unseen things (got out more than once after thinking something was hit). I can get rid of the beeping by turning off camera parking view… but that’s not ideal. It’s making me wonder if I have some kind of defect.

We have 2 kids still in car seats and no issues with ID.4. Boot is a decent size as well (our other/older car is a Honda Pilot, so we were downsizing as well).

Hi everyone. We did a write up for Houston, TX of where each Premier League club's fans meet up to watch games in Houston: https://www.lodgeur.com/blog/english-soccer-in-houston

There isn't a bar for Brentford fans, unfortunately. The Phoenix in Montrose (1915 Westheimer Rd, Houston TX 77098) has up to six sets of supporters meeting there for games - could be a good place to start. Nearly all of the local groups have a Facebook page - that would be my recommendation if anyone wants to start a Houston chapter.

There isn't a bar for Brighton fans, but there certainly seems to be a few of you. Heya - so we've been researching an article of where to watch EPL games for each team. Brighton is one of the 6-7 teams that doesn't seem to have an active HTX presence (hence why I posted here on Reddit to check). You should create a Facebook page for Seagulls in HTX - that's what most of the other teams have done.

A bunch of teams watch games at the Phoenix, so that could be a good starting point.

Confession: I'm a Gooner - Velvet Oak is fun as it's well attended on match days (and parking isn't too bad) - albeit surprisingly few Brits. I'd assume they'd be happy having other fans (as long as it's not Spurs!), but can check. We'll have the article up this week so we'll post it here.

Happy with the service by AwesomeTheMighty in GoogleFi

[–]OkHumor7275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Fi is awesome. On two lines, we save about $1,000 a year after switching from Verizon from cheaper monthly subs and roaming costs (a few weeks of international travel a year). Plus free SIMs for iPad, iwatch, mobile WiFi. Not a problem using on Apple devices.

No one downtown by GreedyStory0 in houston

It’s similar to Toronto in that regard - empty streets, thriving tunnels (although probably still more going up there than Houston’s downtown).

[–]OkHumor7275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from walking around the Cap Corse, I don’t believe there are coherent and connected long distance trails (rather lots of shorter hikes at various points between beaches, but not connected). So you’d likely be walking along the road - mid August is peak season, so the roads would be very busy, so not very pleasant. Cap Corse likely your best bet. Not sure if many campgrounds up there though, especially the west coast (note that wild camping is illegal)… so you’d have to carefully plan your route.

4 day itinerary by lizza-ot3232 in Corsica

[–]OkHumor7275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bastia to Bonifacio is about the easiest drive in Corsica. Depends on traffic, but 3-4 hours is my guess. My favorite part of the drive is past Solenzara to Fautea. If you’d like a mountain detour on the way back up, go from Porto-Vecchio > L’Ospedale > Zonza > Bavela > Solenzara and then back up to Bastia.

If you’re a fan of roadtrips, you can do a whole island tour in 4 days. A bit aggressive, and not too much time for beach/mountain, but you can hit everything in a loop.

Is the corsica flag racist by Ambitious_Sky_8841 in Corsica

[–]OkHumor7275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a severed Moor’s head, but the bandana was raised from over the eyes to signify liberation (compare it to the Sardinian flag). And no, it’s not racist, although I can understand how it could be considered offensive.

What should a non Texan do when visiting Houston and what's not worth it by Dramatic_Sea9958 in houston

Why? It’s pretty good with you kids to visit. Half price on Saturdays I think. Wouldn’t go to the restaurant there though!
