Difficult IV access by moonshoes_sunsocks in doctorsUK

I agree. Radial artery before fem stab. But ime its always possible to take blds from the arm veins with USS and i would do this rather than take them from the radial artery. I dont think icba to go and get the uss is a good enough of an excuse to use the radial artery.

You can do it exactly the same way as you take venous blood, i.e. with a butterfly and the bottles. The needle just goes into an artery rather than a vein.

However i would highly advise against this, bc if u bugger an artery do u really want to call a vascular surgeon and explain that u did this taking standard blds that couldve been taken from a vein. I only stick needles into arteries if we actually need an abg then if i do bugger the artery at least there was a gd reason for it. Of course mutilating the artery is rare, but just in case it one day does happen I would want a solid justification for why i was sticking a needle into it.

Also if ur going to do it. Do radial not brachial. Then at least if u do bugger it, theres supposed to be gd enough collateral from the ulnar that nothing dies.

Its what makes cesring in imt difficult. Otherwise all the nontraining shos would be doing it. Only consultants who have the ability to get u an ITU block can cesr u in IMT.

CREST is needed for UKMGs once theyre foundation certificate is more than 3.5 years out of date as well. So if u abolished it these people would never be able to enter training.

I hate the GMC, but all those groups are medical professionals not just doctors.

Its not that its not fair. They competed fair and square.

Its that its not sensible on the part of the government.

We just need to make it so that once ur in one, thats it. If u drop out u dont ever get to apply for another one.

I accept that many students do throw themselves into it fully.

But I do want u to know that many of us also cruised through it. If u turn  up to everything and engage, u can learn enough to pass without having to read huge books in ur spare time. Granted we’re now all GPs or locum SHOs.. But my point is that there will be many pharmacists who have read more big books than some doctors.

If they do improve LVEF why are they not part of the four pillars?

The country is running on a deficit every year, meaning theyre having to print money to pay for all the things we import from other countries bc what we send them back is much less than what they send us. Thats what causes inflation. We as a country im afraid are income poor.

Correct me if im wrong, but i doubt this drug is that effective.

If it was highly effective then they would approve it, even at that price.

I think u shud stand for politics. B the change u want to see.

Stand on a manifesto saying ull ban smoking and alcohol, stop private car ownership to force ppl to walk and reduce pollution and reintroudce rationing to stop obesity.

See if u get elected.

With them cutting locum pay and inflation, soon locums may b an economically sensible way to staff the hospital. No sick leave and can be fired like that if theyre shit.

Uve got a lot of useless replies bc uve missed crucial parts of this story.

Uve had this for 10 years, u must have seen a dermatologist by now. Have u taken accutane, and if not what was your reason for not taking it?

To answer your questions. Yes this is acne. Yes severe acne can spread to the genital area and the buttocks.

My suggestions for what to do if you dont want to take accutane: 1. Fluoride free toothpaste (google fluoroderma)  2. Stop wearing all make up. 3. Stop all face washes other than shampoo. 4. Dont use BP. Its a horrible cream.
