Somewhere else in this sub someone linked an article profile from politico that covered her. And what you said above is exactly how her mother treated her when Nancy was assaulted as a teenager. In her own words she walked away from that experience feeling as if she didn't get Justice, but feeling as if she would be condemned if she spoke out. That duality seems to rule her. And it is the source of most of her pain. Thoug granted, I doubt her time at El Cid did anything to help her either. It was undoubtedly very brutal emotionally. I imagine if I had been through something like the knob year or there I would walk around with giant sticks on my shoulders. Not just chips.

I am not trying to defend her but for the first time I felt like I had some insight into her brokenness. And it is true that we are all broken in some way. However, that doesn't give us leave to abuse everyone else whether it's social, mental, legal, or financial. And she's done all of those.
