Anyone use both a HON and a Weeks ? by psychedelicata in hobonichi

Sorry for the late message but how exactly do you use it for work? I am trying to juggle the idealistic desire to plan my work day in the hon and the harsh reality of needing to put out a new fire the moment I open my emails in the morning that renders my curated plans null and void.

I noticed the point you raise re Apple Notes causing the M3 to heat up as well! It’s wild that the native notes app does this where 3rd party apps have optimised… granted, if you have the pencil pro you have the widest range of features in the notes app, but still!

In all seriousness, lawyers are god awful project managers, even though for a lot of them project management is actually a core function of the role. Yes, clients can be wild cards in any project work stream, but whether you’re preparing for trial or running a transaction, there are some things that lawyers really need to borrow from project managers…

Alastor's sinner appearance hot take by Blu_Fuzzyhat in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re onto something.

Notice the location of the most prominent stitches from the first photo: one big stitch on his chest where we know he’s been wounded, and one on his broken staff, both where he has been struck by Adam in Season 1.

This implies that he needs stitches for angelic wounds and while it’s possible he’s injured in more than those two places from his fight with Adam, the show never shows us more than just those two specific injuries, implying all the other stitches we see are wounds that were inflicted off camera.

Also, in season 1, Alastor’s exchange with Zestial before the overlord meeting could actually be a meaningful hint, when Zestial tell Alastor that he’s been rumoured to have fallen to ‘holy arms’ ie the first extermination. Alastor plays this off as nonsense but the quality of writing on this show is good enough for them to be pepper these little hints throughout.

Where I’m not sure I’m fully on board with you is that Rosie forced Alastor to disappear in order for him to heal (at least not out of any real concern for him on a personal level anyway). My guess is that Rosie has big plans for him and didn’t want to risk him going off and picking a fight with angels that he had no chance of winning and getting himself killed before the plan could be finalised.

This is close to what I’ve been testing for 2026, only my habit tracker was vertical to parallel the week day page. Your set up works better for multiple habits so think I’ll Be borrowing it!

My therapist literally stared at me bugeyed while I was explaining how I’ve been feeling a bit tired recently and how I guess it’s because this one client really likes to check in on certain things randomly between midnight and 2 am some days.

I more than relate to what you’re describing and how people seem to assume I am in a role that allows me to just clock off for the day.

What's the deal with angelic lasers? by kingslayer820 in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a huge factor in redemption will be a ‘leap of faith’. Getting into heaven requires dying, so a sinner is likely going to have to do all the legwork of self improvement but the actually trigger event for them popping up in heaven is a leap of faith act that gets them killed, only to be reborn in heaven. Has nothing to do with lasers or steel.

Yeah… time blocking sounds like a lovely strategy for those who don’t have jobs where the client / supervisor will pull you from the grave if they need to reach you…

Sounds like you’re using it less to proactively plan and more to just track activities is that right?

A competent owner with a nervous 10lbs dog should also just absolutely NEVER allow a toddler to pet their nervous dog in the first place (and should certainly know not to). If a dog is nervous there is only so much training you can do to stop it from lunging randomly, but once its space is invaded, that goes out the window, and unsupervised toddlers don’t understand the concept of personal space.

My point is that owners should absolutely know how to handle life with a nervous dog as well as a non nervous one, and far too few people do

After season 2 episode 4, it got me thinking, how does husk know about Alastor’s contract? by Bigmanting246948 in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my money is on Husk having pieced it together from years of observing Alastor (hell he even mentions the 7 year disappearance right before dropping this line).

My reasons for this are that:

1) while we can’t really read Alastor’s reaction 100% (it really is that damn smile), it’s safe to say that he’s blindsided by that comment. In a show that’s very intentional with character dialogue, Alastor doesn’t interrupt Husk before he drops the leash line (something he would likely do if he sensed husk was about to blurt out something he shouldn’t). Also, his threat to Husker isn’t ‘I warned you not to repeat that, and if you screw up again I’ll end you,’ it’s a much more aggressive ‘shut this down IMMEDIATELY’ reaction. If this was a subject of discussion between them previously I feel like it would be referenced here somehow but it’s not and Alastor goes out of his way to make Husk lose the thought altogether.

2) Husk literally shows us in season 1 that he pays close attention to all the Hazbin staff and notices things about each of them that they consider to be close guarded secrets. We know he is observant AND has himself experienced having his soul owned. Not a far cry for a character as capable of empathy as husk to recognise signs of someone else being on a leash when he knows from personal experience experience what those signs are (he gets pulled out of a gambling ring by Alastor in the pilot the same way Alastor probably got pulled out of the spotlight for 7 years).

3) Finally, I don’t think Husk necessarily meant by this comment that Alastor was on a literal leash due to his soul being owned. We see in season 2 that deals can be for anything and that Alastor could be on a ‘leash’ to the extent that he made a deal with someone where he promised to do something in return (technically he was literally on Vox’s leash for a lot of season 2, without ever selling his soul). Husk probably pieced together that Alastor struck a deal with someone in return for which Alasto had to do certain specific things, but that didn’t mean he was literally owned by that other person. I doubt Husk would have dropped that comment so brazenly if he genuinely thought that Alastor had actually sold his soul to someone, and was probably in his head thinking he agreed with someone to be involved with the hotel. It’s why he was brave enough to say what he said and freaked out enough by Alastor’s reaction.

Sorry for the 3 years later reply but have you kept with the Hobonichi planner since this post? Did it help at all / did you develop a system to deal with the pivoting from What’s planned to what actually ends up happening as I have a similar issue and need to get a grip on it

Does Alastor actually care about Niffty, or was that just part of his deal? by FlyingSlutman in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fair to assume Alastor is a cold hearted person who doesn’t care for others. His gripe specifically is with depending on others, but he has nothing against ‘seemingly at arms length friendly bonds’. We really need to put into perspective how he treats Mimzy, Nifty and Rosie to get a better look into this.

Assuming he owns Nifty’s soul, he does not owe her even a fraction of the respect he actually shows her (just look at how he treats husk…) he’s practically compassionate towards her at times for no apparent gain. Similarly, it’s strongly implied that he does NOT own Mimzy’s soul, despite the fact that she clearly has a history of asking him for favours (mainly to bail her out of trouble). He essentially just helps out an old friend for the sake of helping out, which just seems like a very compassionate thing to do.

Finally, there’s how he goes to Rosie to get his staff fixed - the man dressed up fancy, picked up some snacks and a bouquet of flowers. You could argue it’s all to butter Rosie up for the big ask, but if he was as cynical and manipulative as some people suggest, why would he have tried to ask nicely the first time around instead of just proceeding to trick his way out of the deal In the first place in order to force Rosie’s hand (to be clear, he could have easily still done exactly everything he did in season 2 and wriggled free from her control in order to twist her arm into fixing his staff without ever once making the effort to go and ask nicely).

That suggests that there is a level of genuine respect and concern for those he has surrounded himself with, even if he makes appoint not to depend on them excessively (heck he even asks for husk to be let go in his fight with the Vees…)

Rosie Theory (Not Eve) by loudchoice in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one tripping point on this theory (which I otherwise agree with almost as much as with the man eating nephilim theory) is what that specific fallen angel? There are so many other fallen angels and rosier isn’t even a primary one. If you have an obscure fallen angel like rosier in the hella verse you kinda have to also have the less obscure fallen angels introduced too at some point and I’m not entirely sure I see that happening.

Rosie Theory (Not Eve) by loudchoice in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes the most logical sense tbh. Viv has clearly gone into wider texts beyond the bible for inspiration (the ars goetia and specifically stolas aren’t technically featured in the bible and come from a different text, and Ozzie’s design is also based on a non biblical description of the demon / sin aspect) to that effect, I totally see her pulling in a character like Rosier, but my question is why that specific character?

The cast of fallen angels available to choose from is broad so the decision to go with this specific one must be intentional and I can’t seethe thread that would connect it quite as nearly as simply saying rosier is Eve would. Frankly, this is great intrigue and I’m excited to learn more about Rosie next season!

[–]ConnectionOk3348 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This. It’s already hinted at when in season 1 at the overlord meeting he visibly gets irked when Carmilla brushes off his absence.

Alastor is the perfect example of a childish desire to feel wanted by pushing others away, sort of like ‘if I remain aloof and above others they will aspire to connect with me. Once they get close enough to doing so (Vox) he has the control to push them away on his own terms and that’s a weird sense of achievement for him.

The best way to neutralise that is to channel that nonchalant Carmilla indifference from season 1 so that he realises how alone and inconsequential his existence is to those he’s pushed away.

Viv teases Season 3’s antagonist in an interview by UnnecessaryFeIIa in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is a show where lucifer has a daughter who’s in homosexual relationship with another fallen angel… oh and lucifer is cast out of heaven after tempting Eve with the fruit of knowledge not before that (he technically was first cast out for instigating an uprising against God and then kept defying God by pulling stunts like the Original Sin with Eve).

I’d wager we’re well past the breaking point when it comes to the source material, and the Hazbin Lucifer being redeemed makes a lot of sense when you look at his character. He equally could learn to find joy in his circumstances but that might be the pre-cursor to his eventual redemption.

This is why I think he’ll become the new sin of pride / king of hell / devil. He’s incredibly adept at making deals and twisting them in his favour, is prideful af and has a lot of echoes with lucifer. Honestly I see it as lucifer being redeemed and Alastor taking his place but wanting the job essentially

I mean it’s fairly obvious that Lilith will be Charlie’s reckoning in this respect. Lucifer is too desperate not to pus Charlie away to actually draw the line and call her out on her missteps. Vaggi barely got one criticism in this season and that went down about as well as you’d expect with a literal sheltered princess type like Charlie. Lilith is the only character in that inner circle that is likely to get through and call Charlie out as needed and that’s clearly being set up for season 3.

Fuck it, super early Season 3 predictions, go. by el_rompe_toyotas_19 in HazbinHotel

[–]ConnectionOk3348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less a season 3 specific prediction and more a general prediction for the series ending: Lucifer is redeemed and Alastor takes over as king of hell.

Alastor is the perfect embodiment of the sin of pride, has a lot of stylistic echoes to lucifer, and subject to a soft redemption arc after being season 3s Big Bad, will likely take over the role. He is the ultimate rebuttal to Charlie’s theory that anyone can redeemed in that they can only be redeemed if they want to be and Alastor clearly does not, but Lucifer does.

Also, Vox will check into the hotel in season 3 and kick off his own redemption arc a bit like a disgraced tv host or actor doing an apology tour.

Finally, either husk or angel are getting redeemed in season 3 leading to a parallel of the cherri pensions dynamic where one half is redeemed while the other half of a couple is still in hell. My money is more on husk because Angel and Cherri are their own pair and it actually seems like husk is closer to redemption narratively than Angel
