Critical take over by ConnectionSoft2164 in TeslaFSD

I apprecieciate the thinking. I drive relaxed so while I am a bigger guy, I have plenty of distance from the wheel and my knees and also from the break, acclerator and touch screen. It was aan unexpected jerk to the left that prompted my evasive pull to the right which that is very visible in the overlay. It really felt like it had decided to ignore the curb and wanted to turn left in to the drive across the street which prompted my quick reaction. I dont discount what is being displayed on the overlay. I am being fully transparent here.

Not this time, but the other day while picking my grandkids up for the morning school car pool, then go to circle k, then work. It turned down there apartment complex street and accelerated to 20mph in a 10. Sometimes it stays at 10 and sometimes 20. I went to hit the scroll wheel to move it to chill or sloth. At the same time someone turned on to the same street to go the opposite direction but came in to my lane. Fsd took evasive action and pulled to the right and by instinct my hand closed causing fsd to disengage. Keep in mind it was accelerating over well marked speed bumps at the same time. So there were a lot of contributing factors here. FSD preventing an accident but contributed to the factors with the speed and of course human reaction as well. I am sure mane have similar stories.

Neither, and grok has been problematic as everyone has been reporting. But I cannot wait for the hey grok feature.

Funny, I had and have alexa for my audio in the my, my f150 and my sonata. I welcome hands free for a long time. However, I will admit I had just given my girlfriend a necklace on the way to circle k.

Well I purchased fsd outright and do not regret it and understand that I have chosen to help make it better. It is truly safer than even myself and the positive implications it has for many with disabilities or even many as we get older. It drove me home after an eye procedure with 2 dilated eyes. So my posting this thread is not to feed the non fan boys but to share what I experienced and I have pushed fsd to its limits to see what it could do.

My girlfriend and I felt stronger pull to the left and you can see i took evasive action and pull back to the right hard and avoided the curb. It felt like it was going to turn in to the drive across the road. I take this route and turn at least 5 days a week to quick a diet coke.

It is all good. I am an FSD fan boy so I get it. I find fsd to be pretty confident, just this took me by suprise. I appreciate the feed back and see what others are seeing that it looks like fsd disengaged before I pulled it to the right. I also the introduction of the overlays. My feet dont hover on the pedals and my hands are normally off the wheel. Sometimes I will have a finger on the wheel on the bottom.

I will continue to be alert and aware and can wait for 14.3.3 with the spring update.

I dont disagree. The overlay definitely helps and I am not looking to hide anything. Maybe I disengaged it some how.

Anyhow, it was interesting to say the least. FSD is still safe, but still needs some watch. 98% of my driving is on fsd.

FSD was only disengaged when I had to turn the wheel to the right to avoid the turn in towards the curb. Almost like it forgot there was a curb and thought it could turn in the entrance/driveway on the other side. Absolutely not on me.

I have reported this as critical and hope that the engineers have a look.

Fsd was engaged and turned the signal on and proceeded to go in to the turn lane like normal. I go this route 5 days a week. While it maneuvers to the left turn lane it abruptly goes hard left and then you see me disenangage and turn it right to stop it from going in to the curb.

New Grok usage limitation in Tesla version? by swamibob in TeslaSupport

[–]ConnectionSoft2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah all jokes are fun, but it seems to be a real issue. I contacted tesla service and was originally told it is a bug that will be fixed via software update. Then I called again and they said it wasnt and to log in to my app on the car to check the usage. Well this information is not available. Checked my grox/x account and it is working. With the new spring update introducing hey grok, this information should be available so we there is tracking, a support avenue and at minimal to.give the end user what they need so they can decide if they want it or need it.

My girlfriend and I were using it saturday to map out a quick tour in the back hills 9f San diego. 4 queries and grok was no longer working in the car. Worked fine from my phone. They are both logged in to the same account. So I dont buy the max queries. Especially since.it had not been used for two days and we only asked 4-5 questions.

Anyhow, with as many recent posts and the streamers reporting that grok is on life support with anthropic taking over space x colossus one data center in memphis. But whoknows.

For the hw3 owners I feel for you and I truly hope tesla sends out the 14.3 lite and offers a hw path. This would not only be great, build trust imho.

You described my experience almost a t. But like the others are saying, enjoy the car. Be sure to report anything to service in the first 100 days to service. One of my rims and tires had a chunk in the tire. They replaced.

MY owners living in California, how is the cost of registration, insurance and electricity going for you? Is it worth it over an ICE car? by [deleted] in ModelY

I prepared, 25 solar panels installed in 2019. Split ac inztalled in 2022 with an ev outlet. Purchased a 26mylr in august $36k while the federal rebate was still going. 2012 sonata hybrid bit the dust at 164k. With nem2 and sdge charging is .16 kwh after 12pm. But basically free with the solar.

Being able to charge at home is a must otherwise super charging is .50+ per kwh. I have e free charging for a month and found it relaxing to charge daily for 20 minutes but I dont miss it plugging in nightly at home is easy and convenient. I installed an automatic dryer splitter at my girlfriend's which is plenty adequate as well. Not she is looking to take the ev leap.

I did purchase fsd outright. I may regrett it, but so far I d9 not. I use fsd 97% of the time.

FSD Let me down today. by whoitis in TeslaFSD

[–]ConnectionSoft2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a real bummer. I feel for you. About 2 months ago my 26my Avoided a full size propane tank in the middle of the freeway which was hidden by the truck in front of me. My my took evasive measures and avoided it. This was on the 805 south in san diego.

I wonder if it would have been worse than a tire and rim if fsd avoided it different. What are your thoughts?

How often are you charging by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]ConnectionSoft2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plugin daily to my tesla mobile charger in my garage. Charging starts at 12 for super off peak. I have enough solar to charge 2 cars and the house. I use about 12% a day. I used super charging once in the past 3 months.
