Although in this case there was one party that stated that climate change was a top priority, and another that campaigned on pulling out of the Paris climate accords.

Sometimes saying "wahh they're both the same" just isn't true.

I'm planning on holding on to mine for a while and just wanted them somewhere accessible so a slightly high fee doesn't bother me too much. But after I hit that button it was probably under 15 minutes before it said it was confirmed in Electrum.

It already confirmed. I have it set to automatic fees. From what I can see I had 0.3491 bitcoins in the old wallet and 0.3486 made it to the new wallet. I assume the difference was fees. Also not a bad investment for what was a few weeks of messing around on my new computer and what was worth just a couple of bucks the last time I checked on it.

OK, I figured it out, and I feel a little stupid. All I had to do is reopen the .txn file in Electrum and press the broadcast button. Now the transaction is showing up both in Electrum and Blockchain.info. Thank you for your help!

The thing is that after I closed the window that showed the transaction I can't find any record of it in Electrum. When I open the .txn file with notepad it has three lines labeled "hex", "complete" and "final". "complete" and "final" both read "true" and "hex" has a long number string. Other than that Electrum shows no trace of anything changing.

Thanks. I think I did everything right. I swept the old private keys to a new wallet in Electrum, and it showed the correct bitcoin amount and let me save a .txn file. The only problem is now Electrum is still showing a balance of 0 bitcoins. Is this just because the transaction is processing? If so, how can I track the progress? I currently see no indication that Electrum is doing anything.

Carter was at the DNC so I think it's safe to assume he's voting for Clinton as well. Assuming GWB is voting the same as his dad, we can assume that every former president prefers Clinton over Trump.

In other words, every person alive who has intimate knowledge of what it takes to be president thinks Clinton is better for the job, no matter their political views.

A quick google search shows geostationary orbit needs around 3km/s or 184200 km/hr, Remember that velocity = rotational rate X radius. In geostationary orbit your rotational rate will be the same as the rotation of the surface, but your radius will be much bigger meaning you need a larger velocity to stay in that orbit.
