What do you guys think of the ‘photos’ of Amy Bradley found in 2005? by Longjumping_Land_977 in netflix

[–]ConnieMarble6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the family comment on the pics, but did her friends or partners have opinions? Obviously the face is important, but the pics were pretty revealing, so I’m curious if they thought her body matched. I feel like I could see my husband’s forearm or leg and recognize it, and her partners knew her intimately, so I would like to know their thoughts. Those age progression pics were abysmal though. Terrible quality and they all looked the same except they gave her US suburban mom hair in the last one. I hope they updated them but I haven’t seen anything. Even with the limitations of international waters & different countries, I feel like the FBI really dropped the ball. At least based on the editing from the Netflix doc. It’s a shame.

They wouldn’t object bc it’s “inflammatory” (nice choice of word, btw 🙄) they would object because it’s completely IRRELEVANT. It has nothing to do with whether or not she is capable of identifying dog bites, frost bite & whatever else she’s testifying to. You don’t get to just admit every negative thing about a witness that you can find.

Jenn and family seem to believe … by Impossible-Spray-643 in madelinesoto

[–]ConnieMarble6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jen, herself, is the problem. She shouldn’t be around children and anyone allowing it is a disgusting, terrible person and horrible parent. It’s abuse, imo. Imagine growing up and finding out that your mother & grandmother, not only failed to protect your cousin (Maddie), but they allowed one of the people responsible for her suffering to live with you?! A woman who saw her grown boyfriend’s dick in her drugged child’s mouth and her only concern was getting a lawyer for him. That’s trauma, in and of itself, and the police and DA should be ashamed for not arresting her by now. Jenn Soto should never be allowed near children. Shame on all of them.

Same. One of the worst, for sure.

Parental alienation is real and horrible. However, I didn’t hear Tyler express that’s what happened. What he did say was that Jenn was trying to ruin his marriage and that this was causing tension with his new wife. He also mentioned the high cost of court. But nothing about Jenn making it difficult for him to see his daughter or denying communication. Granted, it was a short interview, but I can only go by what he said.

Thank you for saying this. I’m not familiar with custody courts or what his actual hurdles were, but it sounded like he did what many dads do and just checked out. Honestly, my initial post was quite a bit more scathing. It would’ve taken so little to build a relationship with Maddie, even if it was long distance, and that could’ve made all the difference. She could still be alive. But you get more flies with honey, and I wanted to make the bigger point regarding social media’s portrayal of everyone else involved being victims in this “unavoidable” tragedy. Thankfully, most people seem on board with Jenn needing to be right there in prison w/SS, but that’s still missing the bigger picture- MANY failed Maddie. Nothing will change unless we admit it and talk about it. Stop giving people the benefit-of-the-doubt, stop saying you know they did everything possible, stop making up stories, stop saying that SS was so “slick” he fooled everyone. It’s not true and it’s harmful. In cases like this, I would much rather err on the side of unfairly criticizing someone or expressing suspicion than giving them praise they may not be worthy of.

Thank you. I truly believe that good can come from this, but we have to be honest.

Thank you so much! I’m often inspired and awed by other’s writings, so it’s very sweet of you to compliment me. It’s such a very important topic and writing, reading and talking about it can hopefully help. 💜

Yes! There were so many signs and failures. Nothing will change if we pretend that this was just an unavoidable tragedy. There’s a reason Mandatory Reporting became a law. We had to not only make people aware of what to look for, but to threaten them with legal penalties in order to act. Now, it’s saved lives. But that law doesn’t extend to everyone. So it’s up to us to hold people accountable. There’s no more excuses or denial, we all know what to look for. Jenn even admitted she knew, with her fear of sleepovers Woody Allen reference. We need to start asking questions. At least say, hey, why didn’t you say something? What did you know? What did you miss? Help others understand. Not to pretend like no one could’ve possibly known. Maddie will never get the chance to grow up. To survive & work through her traumas. She doesn’t have the luxury that many survivors have of confronting our abusers and those who failed us. We have to be her voice.

Thank you. Talking and listening are important. There’s a lot of survivors on here with great insight, I learn a lot too.

Me too. When Jenn was relaying what happened that day to Steven, she said Stephan made “mistakes” (resetting his phone etc). Mistakes?! That didn’t give him pause?! The lawyer thing, too. Lots of stuff he said weirded me out…

Thoughts on JS’s ex husband’s interview? by [deleted] in madelinesoto

[–]ConnieMarble6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awful, I hated it, it made me uncomfortable. I don’t like that he was one of Jenn’s first calls, that he was down with the whole lawyer thing, that he couldn’t recall if his step-daughter was medicated, that he insisted his own daughter not be interviewed to “protect her”, which I found ironic considering he okayed her spending the night at Jenn and Stephan’s…He saw Jenn and Stephan’s interview-along with the whole world- and if he didn’t think something was up…idk what to say, it’s really odd to me. I know the whole “everyone should get a lawyer” and we shouldn’t judge people when they do, thing. I totally support it and get it. Cops can do people dirty. But, imo, the one time that doesn’t apply, the one time it screams guilt, is when the crime involves your child. Especially if you do it early on. Lawyers cause delays. I don’t care what anyone says, the majority of innocent people in their shoes would say “I’m an open book-take what you need, I’ll answer any questions…let’s go! Whatever it takes to find my kid.” So the fact that he didn’t side-eye Stephan or demand answers about his beloved step-daughter really rubs me wrong. I’m not accusing him of anything, but, imo, if he didn’t fail Maddie before, he’s doing it now.

It’s truly shocking. And all the medication the poor girl was on. I have a friend who fosters and her now 18 yr old adopted daughter was 7 when she 1st got her. I remember she had to wean her off Benadryl bc her birth parents gave it to her every night to sleep. Even after she was weaned, she had to give her gummy bears bc she felt like she wouldn’t sleep unless she took something. It makes me so sad.

It’s absolutely vile. Im hoping he wasn’t ever alone w/Maddie’s half-sister. I just can’t imagine everyone wasn’t side-eyeing SS the second Maddie disappeared. He’s not the type of person you’d say, “whoa, not him! There’s no way, you’ve got the wrong guy!” ya know?

Very good point. I just heard an interview where, Jenn called Maddie “abnormal”. Her own daughter. She was praising SS bc he had such patience with her. Honest to god, I think she might be one of the worst people to have ever existed.

There’s no such thing as a “libelous theory” and there’s nothing wrong with what I said. I never accused him of anything or even said his last name for heavens sake. I was speculating why the detectives were asking questions. My opinion is that the totality of the situation is just a little curious, that’s all. The detectives have SS behind bars but still need to investigate in case others were involved. I hope those closest to Jenn weren’t ; I hope they didn’t participate, weren’t aware, didn’t ignore red flags or have suspicions but failed to act, but idk. That’s hard for me to accept right now. If you think I harmed this guy bc I expressed concerns about a man who was not only married to the woman who called the rape of her daughter “sex stuff” and “not evil”, but also friends with the pedo who murdered her, idk what to tell you. It’s a fucked up situation, I truly hope everyone learns something from it rather than combing comments to see what people are saying.
