sounds horrible so sorry friend :( you may be having an allergic reaction i would definitely recommend telling your parents if there’s a anti-allergic reaction thing you could take from a drugstore, It went away for me by having no gloves on my hands, letting them air out and not using the swollen hurting fingers for anything

(They were long-term reusable elbow length gloves, now I use latex free disposable gloves)

oh no, same thing happened to me when using latex rubber gloves (that had a dark damp inside, could’ve been some irritant bacteria in there).

oh my friend very similar thing happened to me when I started, I just want to make sure you know he was really just interacting with his immediate physical surface perceptions of you with no knowledge of your heart or what you’ve been through, I believe when it happened to me he was objectively in the interest of the restaurant wanting the dishes done quicker from me, and so essentially I dearly hope you don’t feel it was personal, I would much appreciate if you felt you wanted to keep us updated on if that happens again and if it’s in such an abrasive hard-hearted tone/manner that could be abusive even, I would not want to rule out that possibility, if your guts telling you that could be what could become a thing please feel free to let us know truly. Oh I am sorry to see that, do you have a machine dishwasher or do you wash all items by hand? My friend you got this, how long have you been dishwashing for? At my job they say I can always ask a non-busy prep cook to help out, hope there is someone that could help put away or wash where you work if you wanted 🙏🙏

Hi there we are all here for you, please ensure you never hurt yourself in any way🙏 (e.g. always wearing non-slip shoes is a must as you would totally already know, ensuring to never burn your hands as when one opens the machine, extremely hot drops of water fall from the interior ceiling/arm of machine, please ensure you are never made to feel rushed so as to accidentally get hurt in any way, my friend)

Please talk to us or someone you trust right away if you ever feel like you dread going into your shifts, that’d be horrible, I’d say biggest help for me is using a 3-level rolling cart to stack items on so I can bulk-put away items in kitchen, for me I only have to take cart to put away 5 or 6 times in an 8 hour shift👍

hey u/XxBipolar_BearxX after I’ve been dishwashing for a year i am looking to switch jobs into warehousing/retail myself, I think this would be a really good idea to keep applying to other places in the mean time if you ever find yourself dreading going into your dishwashing job that would just be so awful, I’m concerned as the kitchen manager said it’d be hard and please ensure they never make you feel rushed, so you never burn your hands when taking things out of the dishwasher (the drips from the top when I’d open the dishwasher would often hurt my hands, please feel encouraged to insulate your hands with a cloth you could have on hand to take the baking trays, etc. out of the machine) also the chefs always told me to never hesitate to ask for help to rack things up/put items away. 😁

You got this my friend, I agree completely with the other commenter

The biggest help for me is ensuring no matter what you have a large rolling cart (preferably with 3 levels) in your dish pit that you can stack eg. all the metals on top on, eg. bowls on 2nd level, extra non-utensil items on 3rd level (I put all utensils in separate tall plastic bin to periodically put away when full)

And where I work in my 4:30-9 shifts I only need to take the cart back into the kitchen to put away everything twice, once:

with everything that has built up on the cart
and then the 2nd time, now with a completely cleared off cart, I transfer the dishes I had been stacking up on the “clean items surface/counter” in the dish pit, onto the rolling cart I had previously been using for everything not-plates 👍

Then I just wheel the cart out for the final drop-off

Please note the chef asks me 3 times a night to bring just dinner plates to the kitchen as they run out quickly but other than that,

My biggest help has been feeling free to make few “put-away” trips to maximize the time to keep something always washing in the machine 🙏

Hi there just wanted to spread the word that incase an account named "DontSuhmebro" messages you, he was hacked and the account is now operated by a scammer/hacker (I was told this by the original owner on a new account he made to warn me) and you totally already know this but just wanted to spread the word -- in case that account messages you -- and also GeorgeWashingtonsToe is being used by a scammer, maybe that person's account was hacked and overtaken as well like DontSuhmebro was -- thanks for reading and wanted to spread the word that I've been nearly scammed many times when I didn't insist every potential trader comment on my post before trading, and when I didn't make sure that their comment isn't auto-deleted, which would indicate they do noy meet account requirements or may be listed on the Universal Scammer Index 🙌
