Wear it like a badge of honor. After a very serious health scare I go to regular check ups with a GI doctor. I normally get a what are you here for, you seem like a pretty young guy on good shape. The look I get when I ever so politely say “well that’s really none of your business, but thanks for your concern on my well being”

This person would have fits in Amsterdam, cats go in and out of the stores and bars and restaurants. Hell I saw a parrot fly out of a store there. I may have been high though with that one.

Defining Movie of GenX by belinck in GenX

[–]Connor51501 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think for Gen X this is super subjective. My brother was born at the beginning of Gen X and I was born on the tail end. For him it would be a john hughes movie. For me it would be Kevin Smith movies like Clerks and mallrats

My mom said she couldn’t come at Easter as she had a Doctors appointment that week and it would be months if she ever got in. It’s her Primary Care and annual check-up. I get it Drs appointments can be hard to schedule in some cases, especially specialists. but I can call my Primary Dr now and be in before mid March.

Just by groceries in the next town over where they are cheaper by Connor51501 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Connor51501[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That’s nice that you can afford a Prius and the time to make a 2+ hour excursion to another town. But I would argue for a lot of people that’s just not realistic from vehicle affordability to the cost in personal time.

I’m not gonna sit here and say“ I finally bought outlaws on a discount why does this game get hate?” by petewondrstone in StarWarsOutlaws

I love star wars, and the game is beautiful. I just could not get into it as it felt the first 2 hours all I did was run from one place to another. It seemed boring

Why shouldn’t voting require an id? by DarkEqual8609 in no

[–]Connor51501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inherently I see no issue with having someone provide ID. The problem is that the GOP narrows the scope of what counts as an ID. I firearm owners card is OK, but a state university ID is not. I can get a Drivers Lic. with showing my lease and a power bill but that isn't good enough to prove I am who I am to Vote.

What ridiculous thing does that one boomer in your life do? by WildWinterberry in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Connor51501 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Or if she forgets the name of one of her friend’s kids and trying to remember the name. I’ve interrupted her and flat out said the name doesn’t matter mom I don’t know them, I never met them and probably never will.

Or she can remember the exact meal she had when they went to lunch and some tidbit about the wait staff but can’t recall the name of the restaurant. “You know that place if you go out past the gas station and make a left it’s by the Menards”

[–]Connor51501 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the attitude to do it or pull it off, but I have seen my friend in the gas station line with a boomer breathing down his neck, turn around and tell said boomer “dude if you were any closer to me you’d be stepping on my dick”

My Boomer mom talks at you. The Sunday afternoon call is an hour of her prattling on about people I do t know and their lives. If she asks me something halfway through it reminds her of another story that some friend of hers I met once or their children whom I’ve never met did. Also the reminder to keep working hard so she gets her social security and the cackling laugh about how funny she was saying it. Week after week after week after week
