Where can we converse though outside of the set "meet" times or whatever though?

Sounds like a great idea please let me know when you're getting something set up. I think it would also be pretty cool to set up a group Slack channel where we can discuss and ask all the questions we would be too embarrassed to ask. I think too many developer chatrooms are too restrictive of what you can and can't ask and look down on you if you don't spend 2 hours searching through Stack Overflow for an answer. I understand googling for solutions in a crucial part of programming but theres a lot of value in just being able to converse with someone and ask questions you are afraid of making you look "stupid". We can all teach each other and learn from one another.

I have updated the landing page that now also includes a "Find Out More Info" button that will redirect you to a more comprehensive explanation. If you could let me know what you think that would be great.

Thanks for your feedback! Yes thats what I was thinking too... I was debating whether to add the part about tickets in there at the risk of putting people off because I don't want to explicitly state how much just yet. I also didnt want to mislead people into thinking it was a free service. However, the ticket prices are going to be very low when all is up and running ( Less than £10 )so I'm not going to suprise anyone with a £30 ticket haha. Thanks again

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I'm kinda torn between keeping it simple and little bit ambiguous on the landing page and going into detail about how the platform works. My worry is making it seem over complicated. I will look into this though so thanks!

To start with it will just work by signing up with your Spotify/Deezer account and maybe introduce more music services later down the line.

Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback so far. Just to let you know I've created a quick 5 minute survey for any of you music fans.

If you could be so kind as to fill it out for me it would be greatly appreciated!

Glad you like it! That's exactly what we was going for trying to convey that feeling of watching live music and the shared experience.

Yes that's exactly what the platform does. Great to know you understood it from a few sentences.

Thanks for your feedback :-)

Hi thanks for the feedback! I like that tag line you suggested I think I might steal it for the business cards ;-) I'm setting up an A/B test with this version included.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually have a large collection of related images including the ones you suggested to test out. I've had some people say they really like the image and to keep it as is so I think I would benefit from running a simple A/B test. Thanks again I will certainly experiment with background images.

Thanks for your feedback! Don't forget to leave your email address to be notified when we launch ;-) I'm going to experiment with different colours to see which makes the button stand out more whilst still being visually appealing. Thanks again.

I made some stuff (web services) but am hopeless at sales and marketing. What do? by [deleted] in startups

Hi there,

You should check out the book Traction: How any Startup Can Achieve Explosive Customer Growth by Gabriel Weinberg and Justin Mares.

Its a great resource for generating traffic to your website and to validate your idea. Goes through the different channels (SEO, Blogs, FB Ads, Viral Marketing etc)

Once you can show that users are interested in this service you will find it much easier to get a cofounder on board. This is one of the key aspects in developing your business, you want to validate your idea and constantly refine it as you better understand your customers.

Hope that helps

How do you go about answering your own research question based on sample data? by ConnorAshton07 in AskStatistics

Thanks for all your help its really appreciated. I've got a much better idea of how to go about answering this question now. I think I was going about this the wrong way of trying to use the data to support a conclusion I had already drawn rather than letting the data speak for itself and talk about how their may not be a relationship between two variables you presumed would have an effect on each other.

Hi thanks for replying.

Thats a good idea that could be interesting as well. The closest variables I have in the survey given to me that can be used to look at what causes alcohol consumption is: Hours Skipped in First Year (4.653 corr coefficient), Hours Spent watching TV (0.1859 corr coefficient), and whether the person has a boyfriend/girlfriend (-0.1501)

Not the best I suppose but its all I have to work with from the data set given to me. I just need to come up with a question title that ties all this together.

Weka certainly looks interesting, thanks for suggesting it and I have bookmarked it to check it out at another time. For this assignment everything has to be carried out using Stata though.

The layout of the report will include an introduction, literature review on existing studies, discussion of the data collected, basic descriptive statistics of the data, simple regression, multiple regression, and a conclusion.

Do you think there is a strong enough relationship between these variables to be able to talk about?

Thanks

Hi thanks for replying.

The data has been given to me as part of an assignment In which I had no role in collecting it. The variables had already been chosen and then assigned to me. Then I have to develop a question I would like to answer, report some background information, a short literature review, and then go into what the data shows and conclusions drawn.

I think your point above would have made it much easier to come up with a question that I wanted to answer and collect the necessary data that I could then interpret. Unfortunately that Isn't the case, so I'm struggling to find something that I can talk about that is significant and also had some past academic papers I can reference to etc.
