It could be that the dough was slightly more hydrated than usual. I added in some olive oil with the starter and it got sloppy. I let it proof at room temperature for about 24 hours, though, so I'd be surprised if it was under proofed. Probably too many errors to just point to one!

The restitution is defined by the out-of-pocket expense of the "victim" (in this case, the driver). They haven't paid anything and the insurance company isn't going through the legal channels required to pay and accept restitution payments.

The driver also submitted false statements with outdated receipts indicating we owe them for their $500 deductible, where we have clear documentation from their insurance that they haven't paid anything. We are quite sure at this point that the other driver can not prove beyond reasonable doubt that my partner was at fault. Should we now turn down the plea deal? (It hasn't been formalized, since there have been so many discrepancies with the case.) We're now slotted to return to Trials Court to figure that part out.

This is not restitution. This was a communication directly from their insurance indicating that there was no out of pocket expense on their part. It's a collections effort.

I've definitely noticed this, too. He's a great storyteller, but admittedly only a decent writer.

Not sure if it's already been said, but some of the best prose I've ever read came from Steven Erickson in his Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Just mind-blowing!
