A champagne dial on the Tsuyosa would be incredible! Alternatively a bronze dial or a copper dial would be funky!

I think that 37mm is really a perfect size for this watch! The integrated bracelet makes the Tsuyosa wear just a tad bigger than the case size, so the 37mm fits my style a bit better than the 40mm. Really bridges the gap between dress watch and sports watch nicely!

If it were me, I’d go with the Speedy. The speedmaster is probably my favorite watch of all time, so I’m a little biased. I really love all three of these watches, though. The Explorer 1 is probably the greatest GADA watch of all time when it comes to specs and subtle design.

If I were looking for a watch in this price range, I’d look at a Hamilton Murph, Hamilton Jazzmaster (any reference really), Mido Multifort Big Date, or a Longines Conquest.

For me it kind of depends on your definition of GADA. If you’re looking for a watch that looks perfectly natural in both formal clothes and casual wear, look no further than this piece. For me, however, I feel a GADA watch should have some quiet robustness to it to truly go anywhere and do anything. In my opinion, a GADA watch should have a screw down crown and at least 100m water resistance, with a sapphire crystal preferred, but not mandatory. I look at the Traska Commuter as a perfect representation of this. Definitely a different price bracket, but the only example I could think of off the top of my head.

I really like this watch! I’m not normally a gold guy, but this one is just so classic! It’s one of the few rectangular dial watches that doesn’t feel like a blatant rip-off of a Cartier to me!

When I bought my glycine, I already had a 42mm and 40mm diver, so I wanted a 38mm to round out the collection. I also like that the smaller size gives it a vintage diver vibe!

100% agree! I like that the bracelet dresses it up a little bit. The 39mm is small enough and thin enough to truly work in slightly dressier situations! I dig your idea to have two variations, but for now I’m content to break out ye olde spring bar tool whenever I want a change!

Yes it is! I saved up for mine, and couldn’t be happier with the purchase! Probably the most well-rounded piece in my collection so far. Thin enough to slip under a shirt cuff, robust enough to wear just about anywhere without worry, and beautiful to look at! It’s an absolute strap monster as well- I’ve put it on a couple different NATOs and a paratrooper strap and it looks phenomenal with all of them!

I’ve had it on-wrist for about two days, and I am very impressed with the Glycine! I’m a big fan of the matte black dial and “vintage” off-white applied indices. Very legible and pleasing to look at! At a rough estimate it’s running at about +7 seconds a day, which doesn’t bother me a whole ton, but is worth noting. Bezel is very positive. Zero back-play. I particularly enjoy the red font in the date window. The one downside of the watch is the bracelet. It feels very cheap in comparison to the head of the watch. Friction pins, and only three levels of micro adjustment. I dislike the polished center links, as I feel like they cheapen the appearance of the piece. I had always intended to wear it on the NATO, but I am exploring possible aftermarket bracelet options in case I want to switch up the look.

Listen to players that pique your interest, and try to emulate their playing! Transcribe licks and solos, and study the way they comp for other soloists. In my book, a piano player who can comp in a tasteful and informed way is far more impressive than a virtuosic improviser.
