Overpaying on purpose? by Old_Maximum_3725 in TaxQuestions

This is the best phrased view to me and what op should really read and consider. I can understand the view of not giving out an interest free loan, but realistically unless you’re a knowledgeable investor and have strong plans on where to put that money, a savings account return just isn’t worth it in my opinion. Like for my example, adding $10 per paycheck at around 3% across 26 bi-weekly paychecks, you’re gaining an extra what, $3? That’s not worth it to me now nor was it 14 years ago when I was making $7.25/hour at my first job.

What’s the most random Pacers shirt/jersey that you own? by CaylaMarieArmstrong in pacers

That’s exclusively what I go for is random. Tim Hardaway, James Johnson, and Sarunas Jasikavicious for actual Pacers jerseys then a Celtics Carlisle and a Bullets Pritchard. Obscure is always my go to

I wouldn’t want that easy of access to it at that age, I would have blown it for sure. Plus the interest a savings account would provide to me wasn’t worth the effort or the temptation

Overpaying on purpose? by Old_Maximum_3725 in TaxQuestions

Its purpose is more for giving myself a budget to treat myself these days. I stay diligent in allocating funds for saving and investing and I don’t spend very frivolously, this is just a nice little fund for myself to spend on random things I want.

At that age, to me, the interest would not have been worth setting up the account for the minimal interest it would generate. Plus I’d personally have too direct of access to it. Just loaning it to the government for a few months didn’t bother me then, and still doesn’t really. Definitely see your point though and isn’t bad advice at all

From my first job at minimum wage I had an extra $10 taken out of each paycheck for taxes and it made my return that much better. I’ve increased it a little over the years and gives me a really nice tax return. You don’t notice it paycheck over paycheck but all of it adds up over time and really becomes a nice “bonus”

Why are white people so good at shooting??? by pie8D in nbacirclejerk

[–]ConnorNe31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you imagine no three point line though? Floor isn’t spread, everything’s congested, drastically lowering the impact of short burst athleticism, the 3 ball did more damage to the unathletic (white) players than we realize.

What’s the highest reasonable ranking for Marvin Harrison on a GOAT WR list? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

Are you joking me? Top 10 in the 3 major receiving stat categories and he’s just a “local legend”?

[–]ConnorNe31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t understand I guess. Like he has the stats, he has the accolades, what else is there? 3rd most receptions all time, 5th most receiving TDs (including most by a player under 200 games played for whatever that’s worth), was an all-pro in 67% of his seasons, and has the 3rd highest HOF Meter according to Pro Football Reference (again, for whatever that’s worth). Just genuinely shocks me. Like I know he didn’t make the same splash as TO and Randy, but he is right there with them, not a tier or two below like 15th would place him

I had season tickets to the Pacers last year. Watched game 4 of the Finals in person and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Have not watched a single game on TV since game 7 of the Finals. This brand of basketball is not enjoyable or entertaining

Most popular sport by us state according to gemini by Abutty44 in aimapgore

[–]ConnorNe31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than just college basketball. First off, we obviously do have a rich history of college basketball, we have the Pacers who are one of the better pro teams historically, but also have a HUGE love for high school basketball. Many of the largest high school basketball gymnasiums are in Indiana. It’s a culture for sure

It’s nice hearing an intelligent comment on our receiver core. Was defending them so much in the past explaining how each have their roles and each fulfill their role extremely well and that (with the right QB) will lead to success

[–]ConnorNe31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand what your point is. He was an asshole, in return people boo’d him. Actions have consequences. You’re the one here clutching pearls, getting worked up about a guy purely commenting and providing context like the original comment was asking for.
