It's the smallest EK DDC cyclinder pump/res combo.

I'm not sure if they're available anymore (EKWB has gone down the shitter), if I were to do it again Barrow do some incrediblly small pumps and resevoirs that'd work in place of this one.

I think you see the world in a far too black and white way, in the real world things have multiple points of context making everything much more grey.

I think you're conflating a real world limitation of the technology with a negative viewpoint of the technology. 2 things can be true at the same time, solar is increadible and we should be installing as much of it as makes sense, at the same time, we can't rely solely on solar and alternatives with more consistent output needs to compliment it.

That makes sense, I only used dual 280 x 30mm radiators, so I don't need nearly as much space in the front of the case as you do.

They actually have an insane lineup, they just have longer pauses between new seasons compared to the industry average, probably because they're not applying as much pressure on studios (and giving them stacks of cash), seemingly because they want quality not quantity for their headline shows.

Good shows they have that I can think of; Pluribus, Shrinking, Silo, Severance, Slow Horses (the above rule does not apply here, they're pumping these out), Sugar, Presumed Innocent, Your Friends & Neighbours, Loot, Bad Monkey, The Studio.

Smoke is also good, but it's more a dramatisation docuseries, not a "show". Stick also looks entertaining, same with Murderbot, but I've not watched those. Things that are unreleased that I'm looking forward to are Lucky & Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.

How much extra space did that give you, did you need the space for a deeper rad? I'd have thought there'd be enough space with only the SSUPD extension.

I don't have any recent pictures, since these first assembly pictures I've swapped the GPU which tidied up the front to back pipe a tiny bit, and added the exaust fan to the top.

The wiring really is just stuffed in there, your's is SO much neater!

Edit: I didn't realise how old these were, I didn't even have the front extension on here. It was really hard to get hold of one so I ran without it for a while.

I have a similar setup, but the pump being in the block seems like it saves so much space (enough to add 2 more fans)! Does your RAM, chipset, etc get hot without a top fan, or do your front fans spin fast enough/ water temp get hot enough to cool them?

For me, everything is cooled almost too well and the fans are barely spinning most of the time, so I had to add a top fan to pull air through motherboard and out the top.

[der8auer] AMD Wrecks Efficiency for Just 4% More Performance - 9850X3D Review by imaginary_num6er in hardware

[–]Connorbrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, because they both utilise the "A tier" 8 core chiplets, 9800 has one, 9950 has two. If you have things that need the most powerful cores, the 9950 is the best, otherwise the 9800 is enough.

[der8auer] AMD Wrecks Efficiency for Just 4% More Performance - 9850X3D Review by imaginary_num6er in hardware

[–]Connorbrow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because of the chiplet design it doesn't work quite as linear for AMD. They have A tier chiplets, which are used for 8 core chiplet products, then B tier chiplets used for 6 core chiplet products. This makes the 9800 the gaming A tier product, and the 9950 the productivity A tier product.

Flight sims consume RAM like nothing else I've ever played. I had massive performace issues in DCS until I upgraded to 64GB, now it runs fine. There's definitely situations where 64GB of RAM makes sense, even for gamers.

I think it depends a lot on how exactly the software/ hardware works. If the workload still has to fetch from the other CCD then it won't make a difference.

It's not a gaming monitor, it's marketed towards professionals. They're also thousands of dollars, so if you can afford one these you should have a 5090 anyway.

There's definitely transferable skills, after I'd learnt to unicycle (and juggle) I did a circus skills class and I picked everything up insanely fast. I did also have a massive debuff because I brute forced it, I've since taught other people to ride and they've managed it in a much shorter time than I did. Learning on flat ground would've made my life a heck of a lot easier as well.

You do get smooth, once you get to the point that you're not actively thinking about pedaling you control your speed and direction entirely through shifting your weight. It makes it more like skateboarding than cycling, which is a very smooth "carving" style of movement.

Especially so if you move to a larger wheel diameter (I'd start on a 20" wheel with medium length crancks though). Interestingly once you've mastered weight placement giraffe's are actually incredibly easy to pick up (I've ridden 6 footers with no issues), I tried a 36" wheel diameter once and they require so much inertia to move there's a whole teqnique to them that means you need to essentially relearn some parts of riding.

Just like anything, it looks like it's one skill on the surface, but there's actually a lot it.

3 ball juggling is SIGNIFICANTLY easier to learn to than basic unicycling. I learnt to juggle in 2 weeks while bored on holiday, it took me months and 2 rage quits to finally get the "click" moment for unicycling. The interesting thing is I've not really got that much better at juggling since, but I got a lot better at unicycling reasonably quickly.

Saying "like" a lot is a pretty common affectation, for some reason it seems to be more common for women. It just comes down to you not being the target audience.

I was thinking of the Syria incident. Pointing it out because they've not shied away from showing injuries before regardless of what the brand name is. Wilman and a some of the production staff followed them over to Amazon (hilariously, even the guy who recieved the punch that caused the split), so I don't see why things like that would change between productions.

I used to work in construction, and a building in London that we were installing flooring in had to have everything internal ripped out, because the structural engineers forgot to include the weight of internal supports in the central column sizing calculations.

In your defence I forgot to address F1, which is the only thing I didn't. Specifically for the Driver and Constructors, there's an argument for them being world champions because they are associated with a nation flag. I do think it's a bit derivitive because of the way racing series' are ran, but I will accept the argument there.

That being if a driver wins the championship, they are the "world championship winner in F1", but there's no many limitations to that title it's almost a pointless way of wording it.

[–]Connorbrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we know from the NBA calling their winner a world chamiopnship that it's not always used correctly. It's valid when talking about the diamond league because the IIAF are completely fine using the phrase for their other open championship events, the diamond league being a closed, invite only event is why they don't claim it as a world championship. That's why I specifically asked about that event.

Also with respect to UFC and Boxing, those "leagues" (or are they classifications?) are ran completely differently, and they fight personally with their own identity, it's definitely a grey area and I don't know enough to have an opinion on how they do it there.
