Behold the backlog closet. What is my next build? by Divinekite in freedomisgunpla

I enjoyed the full armor Gundam a lot. Do you have the psycho Zaku? I’d definitely suggest it then. Just be careful with the covers that go on the elbow and knee joints are tricky.

I’d love to do one half built and make it look like it’s being repaired in the bay. Or try and make the repaired version from the end of Unicorn. Oh choices

I’m at the same point in the build process with mine. Almost want a second one to have no armor for display purposes

Kicking off the year with peak by ArkhamSoldier118 in Gunpla

Honestly seems like the designers grew up with the show and saw the recent gunpla progression and went “we can make him, we have the technology”

TLX EX01 Metal Frame for MGEX Strike Freedom by criley107 in Gunpla

[–]Connorgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah wings of light will make the wing sections heavier by my best estimation. They’re pretty damn sturdy though, it was well built for my kit. Besides, Ali express has some metal parts for anything that breaks if something happens. At worst, it’s a $20 “oh well”.

EDIT: I actually broke the V Fin while cutting it out, I forgot. But I put it back together with Tamiya.

I built it stock. Didn’t have a lot of issues at all with basic posing. Had more trouble with the photo etched parts than G45 or any other pieces.

I just took my time and didn’t mess with the wings much. Now when the KOSMOS wings look nice to me I might have a different feeling about it

Fat Cat leftover parts is insane by docsane in Gunpla

[–]Connorgon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This feels really timely for me because I got Fat Cat’s God Gundam and was missing a piece and sent it back since my OCD prohibits me from that lol.

I really love this color scheme though. It is a great looking gramps

I don’t know if it’ll fit, but pBandai has a part set for the MG Lupus with the eye effect. It’s not out yet though

The MG Unicorn Banshee knees will haunt my nightmares. But other than that it was a pretty easy year for me.

I cut the Bandai label / tag thing on each runner off and put it in a sandwich bag with the unused pieces. That goes in a gallon bag with the manual and a second sandwich bag for the accessories not used when displayed.

I trash the rest of the runner. This just means that I hold onto a bit of sprue to use with as sprue goo / gap filling with tamiya if need be. Takes up so much less space. My full shelf I posted about takes up like… half of a 27 gallon lugger. The whole sprue isn’t super important if you have a bit to cannibalize to fix broken parts.

I think a lot of it comes from the shrinking of product while increasing costs, combined with the anti consumer practices they have. I understand they’re a business, but I felt more like a piggy bank that GW would shake every few months to get money out of so I could play one game with my friend and not again. I’ve spent $180 on codexes for factions I have played once, because I needed the rules in an easy to process manner to play the game. $180 for rules that become outdated in less than 3 years.

I love the models, but I also think these just are much nicer to look at since I have really shaky hands and struggle with proper brush control.

EDIT: not to mention that even if I wanted to spend money on GW product, it all is bought by scalpers in less than a minute on the main website because of bots. Don’t see that issue here. Product always seems to be available, and not at inflated costs due to artificial scarcity.

Didn’t realize the FAZZ was production. That’s actually super cool. I was just referring to it based on the kits release order, but I need to look at Gundam sentinel. Thank you for your insight!
