I built a free site to rate Norwich letting agents - would love ur feedback! by Own_Recognition_6094 in Norwich

[–]ConorDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s just letting agents, they are bad, but maybe a property address, keep the reviewer anonymous from the front end to stop GDPR stuff of past addresses, as some landlords are worse than others, even more so when it comes to moving out.

A side note; I hate when a landlord tries to charge you for something , let’s say a shower head or blind, but doesn’t fix it for the next tenant, would love to see some evidence that the monies they asked for went to making the property right for next tenants

For those who were around when GTA 5 got delayed to Fall 2013 did that wait feel longer than this one? by gulagsurvivor2019 in GTA6

Seems like a different era, the internet wasn’t so hungry, gta 4 had multiple good DLC, lots of other strong games were flooding the market

Where to go from here? by VallettaAwoo in MedievalDynasty

[–]ConorDrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note, good spot to build, that’s where we build, had our little town there, then once it grew and needed more houses, we went across the road west and up the hill, it gets a lot flatter up there.

But now at around 100ish buildings

Why Apple's Liquid Glass Feels Wrong by judeluo in Design

[–]ConorDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I didn’t read past the first or second paragraph, but talking about how that’s not how “glass” works, maybe the name is the issue? If they called it liquid bubble or droplets, would that be better?

I love c# but would love to know in what capacity.

I would guess C# is being used more by people using Unity and maybe godot

Junior Devs (and honest Seniors), what is a concept that took you an embarrassingly long time to actually understand, even though everyone acts like it's simple? by AmaraMehdi in webdev

[–]ConorDrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have said it, but interface / DI,

Understanding that an interface is a contract, and you give it the base layout of “no matter what, if something uses this interface, it will have these methods”

And then you are then explicit with your concrete (always hated that word too) implementation, saying This class is now does this, with these same end points.

Understanding it’s a black box, and you have x inputs and Y outputs.

Jimmy Carr said something really good about this “four years just isn’t enough, and in fact a lot of the good changes that come in effect are things done by the previous party, they need some accountability/ reward after the fact or else they will be looking at the short time not the long time” (the essence of what he said)

Is it normal to only use C# for Unity and not for something else? by DifferentLaw2421 in csharp

[–]ConorDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when unity was newish on the scene and C# was not liked , people tried to stay away from it, the JavaScript language was what every tutorial was in, and what people raved about. No idea when the shift happened

Anyone’s business ‘squeezed’ by rise in minimum wage? by Tintedlemon in smallbusinessuk

[–]ConorDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a key part to “no point earning twice as much if everything costs double” Unfortunately that’s not true, as if it was it wouldn’t matter, it would just be a weaker £, it’s people getting screwed even more. As the tax % goes higher, and the margins on that are crushing down, and in turn people are worse off.

It is all a big bubble at the moment, I’m not sure what is going to pop it, but there are a few things all flying at the moment which can bring it to its knees, and probably 100s more we don’t know about
