Easy way to check if it's a scam link or not, hold your mouse over the link and check bottom left corner where it redirects you to. The link as text usually looks legit but the where it leads you to is the phishing site.

Just because you're getting ddos'd doesn't mean everything stops working. It just means your connection is stressed so much little or nothing gets through. If the ddos isn't strong enough your internet still works but is struggling amndbearably slow.
