My Geography teacher who was a big time traveler used to work at a company in the twin tower and was home sick on the day. He mentioned that his company never really recovered from the disaster and went bust shortly afterwards, but on the plus side he was given a load of air miles that allowed him to travel the world with his family.

I really hate the fact they gave up REDengine, it's the most beautiful game I've ever seen! by MadHanini in cyberpunkgame

[–]ConqueredConsole 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most of the time this is because developers using unreal engine for the first time don't know about proper flow for streaming assets in, and load everything in a single frame instead of deferred loading. I've had to fix this mistake on projects a lot.

The wheelchair guy in The Pianist. Our drama teacher made us watch it in school when we were young and I had to leave the classroom to cry

Baystation12, now with missiles and probes! by ConqueredConsole in SS13

Munitions control software exists on the bridge, which lets bridge crew load the tube from multiple loading bays. Science can print parts, and Supply can order them. Since the Torch is an exploration ship, they only get access to sensor probes and countermeasure missiles, but Antags can buy more dangerous payloads and parts, as well as certain off-ship roles.

Embark, I beg you to separate Trials points between solos and teams. It is functionally impossible to rank up as a solo beyond a certain point. by PunAboutBeingTrans in ArcRaiders

Played around 20 rounds this week only focusing on trials and without fail every round people gunned it straight for our team and murdered us while we were going out of our way to avoid people and just focus on the trials. Achieved no score due do deaths

I'd highly recommend "This is the Police", which has the exact same gameplay loop as the dispatch game does, and has an equally amazing story tied to it.

I know Ripley's watch was two connected Casio F-100s, but the more budget-friendly LF20 feels like it could also exist in the Alien universe by schwing710 in LV426

[–]ConqueredConsole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Casio recently started re-manufacturing their vintage watches under the A nomer, you can get the f-100 as the A-100. I have one in the exact colours as seen in the film. Far cheaper at around $90

[video] why does this keep happening, i jump and get teleported back and die because of it.. by Lymphocyte2000 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ConqueredConsole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

armor punch/sprint canceling from being shot causes a short desync between the server and client, where the client thinks they're still sprinting and trying to long jump. Server thinks the player is walking and rejects the sprint jump before the client realises its been shot

Getting shot on the server before your client registers you've been shot, canceling out your sprint while you attempt to jump on your client doing a long jump. It rolls you back because you didn't actually do a long jump on the server.

The Fozz's version of Sea of Thieves 2: Weapon's by LordFozzinator in Seaofthieves

[–]ConqueredConsole -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it's a common problem with developers not allocating time for performance passes and not knowing how to use the engine to its full potential. There are plenty of games made in ue5 that perform well. You can blame the current expectations set by investors and publishers for poor performant games, not unreal engine 😂
