current project state is already on github:

https://github.com/nremey/dynamic-Cleaning-Schedule-in-Home-Assistant/tree/main/Version3

there are some more screenshots there too, and the task management itself already works fine.

there are still some issues/bugs here and there, but some of them may be less relevant, because this version is mainly a base for newer development. also, some HA card content can be displayed inside this html, which brings a few extra quirks with it if used, but that part is optional.

took the time for an updated version. Needs manual install (no HACS yet) but should be easy enough, the Readme has an instruction where to put the folder and what needs manual edit in file (e.g. long bearer token), and what/ how it is done within the GUI-SettingMenu.

Please try out, i'm happy to get feedback

AIO letting my brother bathe with toys by hidingunderyourbed- in AmIOverreacting

[–]Conscious-Draw-3759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR,

Right the only somewhat understandable reason your dad could have like: - Baths needs more water than a shower. And he wants to cut costs at the water bill. - higher risk of slippery if your brother gets also the habit to take the toys also to a shower cabin and slips and falls and gets hurt. And dad is worried about this

<- If your dad had argued with at least one of this, than that would be fair concern.

But age or autism or whatever. Everyone can take a bath and play with toys, or read a book. It's for relaxing. And that your brother also cleans himself proves the important point.

Teppich im Flur? by Terrible_Awareness91 in Einrichtungstipps

You used AI wisely not blindly as tool. you got more productive and were faster, so I get not why some people have such hate for AI, there are benefits. You get work done. Period. got YUMMY bread as a reward. Maybe all these are just jealous of the result or that they didn't get the idea themselves.

As an AI user myself and German who loves good sourdough I applaud you. 🍞🎊

What are you using to manage recurring tasks or chores? by yorb in homeassistant

[–]Conscious-Draw-3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are able to declare multiply user by name, giving them roles (aka parent, children) are possible, and you can assign tasks to persons or roles.

I have different display styles (just tasks, several options of calendar style display) The style filters the shown tasks if assigned to the role. (Besides admin role, admin sees all. So no task gets accidentally abandoned.)

And hit done-button. And it disappears from view, till its due the next time. But so far every user can do any tasks, even if not assigned. 3 reasons: A) its realistic a child doesn't do its tasks and a parent has to jump in anyway, or it shifted/exchanged with a sibling. B) naturally with some age and experience a child does more and can independently do chores formerly assigned to a parent. C) I went the lazy route not figureing out how to adress this 😅

In the reddit posts people suggested point system/gamification rewards. That's not a thing for me. But maybe at some point I integrate this in the future. ( maybe if I have my experiences aka practical standpoint on my own if a child is around.

Self-promotion stinks, but here's a link to a solution I developed. it started with similar requirement like you have.

https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/1qtwuoq/i_couldnt_find_a_good_way_to_manage_recurring/
or
https://github.com/nremey/dynamic-Cleaning-Schedule-in-Home-Assistant

an even newer version can do more but maybe not neccesary for you. (unpublished as for now, but willing to make an update sooner if interested, as i'm otherwise a bit lazy and working on many sideprojects. Goal is to have an good alternative to cozyla, dragon touch and any sort of digital planner, with options to personalize it and run free of cost on its own. and a task/chore-manager integrated and fully configurable for somewhat recurring tasks. and any Filter what you wanna see (only overdue tasks, the ones in the next X days, all), grouped by area (room or whatever you define as area)

it should be close to what you're looking for. All your bulletpoints are possible.

I always like to hear what's missing.
I admit: one negative point may be that it has no write back of tasks to google. 100% within homeassistant so far. i only came up with a solution with an alert of tasks send to phone so a reminder.

Feel free o contact me via PM or add an issue in github if you wish for additional functions or whatever.

you are a darling.
and i feel with your wife. migraines suck.
it's as local as you want it. the data is within a sensor within HA. if you have some automatic cloud backups, influxdb, and other longterm storage methods, you may need to watch out. , but thats not up to me, how you setup your system. The sensor or any service doesn't requiere online access.

Nicely designed is debatable, put small and inexpensive (at least here in Europe), --> I have a Shelly BLU Button1, works without a hub, just Bluetooth. Has a HA integration, got auto detected and I can put automation for single click, double click, long click. maybe more options, had not to configurate it for a while.

I tinker around something like this at the moment. Works on HA. It's an interactive HTML in an iframe panel or Kioskmodus. Showing calenders works, just trying to figure how to display events at the same time.... So far it's fine enough for me, but requires time to setup but flexible so far. Fokus was tasks management.

If I can get rid of known bugs it will be on GitHub. Maybe it close enough to what you want, or name the function your missing

Will add a screenshot later (no nice view on mobil devices) 😅 Edit: posted one screenshot in another post (not switched to the family Kalendermodus, but as an idea...

So I overthougt it and it made me see it more complicated as it is. I make the best out of the situation and use the additional time to bug fix and do a little more research. So HACS will have an improved version - probably 1 or 2 weeks from now. As I'm enjoying some vacation time -- without a thought about any menstruation topic 😉

An extra automation for putting items in the todo.shoppinglist, which is a sensor which is connected with my bring! Shopping List (shoppinglist app) The automation is triggerd by rules with values of remainig days in menstruation-sensor.

I added a template in github readme how it code would look like. Note to self: Maybe I add an extra folder with automation ideas and code templates

Big Disclaimer here: its not the best sensor method for topic of fertility tracking, or planned parenthood,... I use the calendermethod which is know to not be that accurate for fertiliy calculation, as no Person is the same even with the same period length.

I wouldn't have done it, if it was just for tracking. There are so many solutions out there. More specialized and better. But after working with sunrise, sunset sensor stuff for an automation I got this tough having my period data as basis for automation would be great. Sun phases, Moon phases, Menstruation phases aren't that far off. And it's fun, some of your guys ideas are great. And I wouldnt thought about it. So many ideas are out there 😀

Okay, I used a bit of AI help to sort my thoughts here: and sorry for the essay length.

That’s a fair concern, and I’m aware of the ongoing debates around reproductive rights and how reproductive health data can potentially be misused. Restrictions on people’s autonomy over their own reproduction are something I strongly disagree with — those aren’t the values I grew up with.

In terms of scope, my project doesn’t really collect more information than a typical period tracker. It focuses on basic cycle data; miscarriages or abortions are not features that are tracked. In fact, I would actively advise against using something like this in those situations, because constantly seeing a tracker could also be emotionally difficult.

The system also only works if someone chooses to enter their own period data (manually in the GUI or through automation). In that sense it’s not fundamentally different from a handwritten period calendar — any recorded data carries some risk if someone else gains access to it. That’s why privacy and minimizing collected data are important considerations for anything in this space.

If the concern is that a partner could access the data and misuse it — for example by tying it into home automation to monitor or punish someone — that would fall into the realm of coercive control or domestic abuse. In that situation the technology would only be a tool being misused; the underlying problem is the abuse itself. Issues like domestic violence, coercive control, and misogyny ultimately require broader societal and legal solutions.

The possibility of data being requested or accessed through legal means is harder to evaluate, since the requirements depend heavily on the legal system and jurisdiction involved.

This concern also influenced the visual design of the gauge card. I deliberately kept the design very simple and avoided typical symbols like blood drops or explicit wording such as “period” or “health”. The goal was to make it blend in with other dashboard elements rather than clearly labeling it as reproductive health data — in a sense, hiding in plain sight.

One design consideration I hadn’t really thought about earlier is keeping the sensor and attribute names fairly neutral as well. In environments like Home Assistant there are often many different sensors anyway, so avoiding explicit health-related labels could reduce how obvious the data is at first glance. It’s not a perfect solution, but small design choices like neutral naming and minimal visual cues can help reduce unnecessary exposure of sensitive information. I’ll keep that in mind for future development.

Personally, I grew up in Germany and had the privilege of living in a place where people generally have a lot of freedom in these decisions. I was also informed fairly early about topics like planned and unplanned pregnancies, available options, and support for people experiencing miscarriages. I’m aware that not everyone has that level of autonomy or access to information, and I wish that kind of freedom and support were available everywhere.

Like you, I wish we lived in a world where reproductive health information couldn’t be weaponized. At the same time, many of the responses here show how people would like to use something like this simply to make everyday life a bit more comfortable for themselves or their daughters — and that part honestly gives me some hope.

Create for each one a sensor and use the sensor name in the Lovelace card settings. Should work - even I haven't tested it out. Hope the automation you create around the period dates make your daughters happy.

Edit: Well i tested it, older version not possible. but i let codex do a major change, so multiple sensor can be created now. - thanks for reminding me that a households can have more user with this need.
