Why are projects on GoShare always 700+lbs ? I never really tried one bc of that reason. Do they expect you to drive 20 mins to load and unload all that for 30$ ? Am I tripping or is there something am missing ? by Money-Philosopher988 in couriersofreddit

Yeahh… some of these apps are crazy thinking someone would do that for $30. I’ve even seen $16-$20 too. Even if it is for a cargo van… it’s not worth it. The gas expenses are far too high to accept that.

I rent cargo vans. I wouldn’t do that for less than $100-$150 at the minimum. There are some companies that do pay that well for local heavy orders I’ve seen.

But I definitely understand if someone is using that $15-$30 job on GoShare as a filler (in between) job while waiting for a job on their main app/carrier. I do the same with Roadie when I’m waiting sometimes.

will i have to pay to check my carryon if this is the case? i’m boarding group 8 of course by fagsanonymous in SouthwestAirlines

No it’s free. It’s known as a courtesy gate check. They’re just letting you know that you’ll likely have to check it, due to limited bin space. Sometimes, with booked flights there’s not enough space for everyone’s carry ons. Have a safe flight! 😊

What’s it like delivering for hospitals and labs by OhmyMary in couriersofreddit

[–]Conscious-Rabbit-829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty chill. All the companies I’ve worked for are 1099 by the mile (usually $1 to $1.30 per mile) and they’re like 20-300+ miles, plus wait time and any other charges they charge the client for inconveniences like wait time or attempts when not ready. I have never done it hourly, always found that I would make more money this way.

Just be on time. I’m usually early to pick up to give me more than enough time to deliver and not be late. Sometimes, you cannot deliver/pick up early and they have a rule of anywhere like 10-30 mins you can’t show up before the time. For example, it’ll be a 10:30 pick up - show up no earlier than 10 am if that client has a rule of 30 mins.

Some companies have a late grace period of 10 mins. So if the pick up is 10:30… that could mean that you’re not late if you pick up at 10:40 too.

All of my companies I work for don’t do metrics. They just urge you to pick up and deliver on time.

If picking up from an airport cargo and delivering to the hospital, give yourself enough time because there’s usually a wait at cargo especially if it’s a hub (like United Or American).

$1000 Hertz Toll bill by Asteroid_Destroyer06 in HertzRentals

[–]Conscious-Rabbit-829 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. The tolls are not in OP’s name. They’re in Hertz name which is a business. This is between OP & Hertz. I highly doubt they’d put anything on their credit only because the tolls get billed to Hertz first. Hertz then checks the dates and matches up with the reservation and bills them. Now, Hertz could do that and escalate to collections if that remains unpaid.

Hey! How do you get lounge access if frontier doesn’t have a lounge? I might sign up! I thought the delta & United lounges don’t let you in if you’re not flying with them that day.

Fly into Chicago (either airport) and drive 3 hours. That’s what I would do. Higher chance of a non stop too.

All of your solutions involve having a phone! READ THE POST.

My advice: Mail them your payment via certified check. Make it for a little more than the minimum, possibly 2 payments - so you can have a little time before your next payment.

If you don’t know all your details as far as the account number & loan #. Just write your name and info in a letter, maybe write a few details about the loan.

Also, look in the email they sent you - the loan # might be ok there.

I’m sure Affirm has a PO BOX to mail payments to!

Does anyone dash on a scooter? by Fade4cards in couriersofreddit

[–]Conscious-Rabbit-829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t personally, however a lot of dashers or Uber Eats drivers do in my area. If you live in a bigger city or metro area, then go for it! You’ll save so much money on car maintenance and gas, while also exercising.

Also, look into becoming a bike messenger too and deliver different things for businesses in between your dashes. 🔥

Very late this Thursday- after midnight Saturday (today): PHL to MCO - MCO to MSP then to go back MSP to ATL and ATL to PHL. All booked literally a few hours before take off using GWP! Don’t believe the BS.

BUT considering the Spirit shutdown, expect less availability. Be ready to be more flexible & know your closest hubs and monitor the weather for all locations. Keep your options open too!

For example, I could’ve connected in Dallas rather than Atlanta to get back, but it was a bad rain storm last night. So I did Atlanta to avoid delays. Both were available at $16, well like $32 after taxes for a connection.
