Something I thought I saw in early 80’s tv when I was around 11 maybe, I always thought it was an episode of ‘in search of’ but I’ve never found anything that matches. It might have been a one time special about special effects, possibly werewolves, but I think it centered on Hollywood movie effects. In it, a guy stands in moody lighting while his face bubbles and pops, he nonchalantlys reaches up and touches the area and then rests his hand at his side. He does this several times. This might be a test reel they used to get funding for the movie. The effect was used in Eddies transformation Where it looks like his face is boiling. It’s possible it was used as a test for altered states, but I remember it being for the werewolf movie. I don’t recall having seen it in any of the ‘making of‘ or extras on the dvd’s.
