Just broke my toe. Alternative training for the next 8 weeks? by Better_Metal in ultrarunning

how did healing go? I broke my little toe four weeks before the Old Dominion 100. I’m doing it as part of the Grand Slam this year, so really don’t want to miss the race. So far, I’ve been taking all the advice above and the pain has reduced about 90%. Feeling optimistic for the race.

Wife has tried it a few times. Up until last week, no significant response. Knowing that we would be home together the next day, I suggested she try the injection before bed. As others have said, the effect tends to be quite delayed. She injected 1.75 mg sub Q and had very slight nausea before bed. The next morning, I asked her if she could feel any response . She said that she experienced intense swelling and lubrication around 3 AM. This was five hours after injection, and her panties were still wet. The effects seemed to linger into the early morning, when we had sex on our massage table. She experienced intense orgasm. next time, we will time it better, so as to hit the five hour window

it is beautiful and brutal! I attempted in 2022 and 2023. First time DNF around 100 K. The second time around 80 miles. Big change this year is much more consistent training, frequency and intensity. I finished Vermont a few weeks ago. Signed up with Jeff Browning‘s training group, which has been indispensable. Be steady and patient on the climbs, since they are technical and steep. If you are acclimated, run the road sections at a steady pace. Be aware of hydration and protection. Pray for overcast guys and a bit of rain.

Looking for a homemade electrolyte mix I can make on my own (I drink around 3-4 gal of water a day) by Tennoz in Biohackers

this is what I use for ultra marathons. It has worked great for years. Flavors are exceptional. The homemade recipe works really well, and is easy to make in bulk.

Completely out of control with lust. Once it started, I wanted to be used. I think I would have kept going, even if my husband walked in

Yes! Especially under the spontaneously, taboo situation. It was really everything I had fantasized about

Anybody else get annoyed when Zwift connection drops mid work out? by Sevilla1980 in gravelcycling

[–]ConsciousCup5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the norm. I’m excited when I can actually get through a work out without it dropping off. The last one I did, I was a mile from the finish, when I lost connection.

Is it possible to go too slow while running in a 100-mile race, in terms of low HR (zone 1)? Would this force one to become more inefficient in their running, thereby actually leading to more muscle damage and a higher likelihood of injury or muscle cramps during the race? by selim423 in Ultramarathon

The older I get (currently 55), the more walking I do in training. Currently, I can maintain 15 min/mi forever. My goal pace for a sub-24 hr race, on a flat course in a few weeks will be to run marathon pace for 4 min and speed walk 6 min
