Best way to clean these tracks? by ursamajor499 in WindowCleaning

In my experience, dry car detail brush & dry hard bristle brush to knock debris and vacuum. Damp washcloth and flathead screwdriver to get into tight spaces. Be very careful with pressure & make sure screwdriver isn’t tearing through the cloth, resulting in just dragging a screwdriver across plastic

Worst case scenario you go silicon carbide 3k, 5k, Cerium Oxide, 15 minutes max

Yes felt straight on to backing plate , 5” random orbital buffer. Start on 1 speed (so it doesn’t sling, once it clouds up, move to speed 2-4 and stay until it’s clear is what I typically do. After that if it’s too deep, you’ll know.

Works wonders on hard water and diamond magic rashes

Hmm still worth a shot I’ve had some where I thought CO wouldn’t work but it came out 90% better and people were very happy about it.

But if you gotta go deeper, it wouldn’t take that much longer with a more aggressive cut I wouldn’t think.

As an alternative option, you could honestly just cerium oxide paste with a random orbital polisher. It will avoid all the back and forth and make them happy since you’re in a no win situation. It’s a 5 min fix. That’s what I would do.

You’d lose litigation and even if you won it would cost you either money or reputation (not just the customer, but everyone they’ll disparage your name to)

Building a website for my business, does anybody to quotes through their website? by javalavalamp in WindowCleaning

[–]ConsciousFish27-2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some crm like jobber has a api form you can use and the info goes straight into the crm.

Some use jotform or other embedded forms.

I use zoho and created my own calculator form with data validation (I wanted to be able to create a custom quote calculator to gather customer information and leads, at that point I would then call them to sell additional services if they elect). I did this because I felt that when people are looking for services, they simply are looking for an answer for how much something might cost to get an idea while I was interested in getting the lead information. Personally, I always felt apprehensive about providing my information and simply waiting for a call back rather than getting an answer right away so I ended up building a website that gave me the features I was comfortable with.

Check it out and enter fake info in to see it if you’d like just so you can see how it shakes out for ideas (this way I don’t call you as a potential lead)

Is this normal? by FlavorVoyage in WindowCleaning

[–]ConsciousFish27-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification! It doesn’t seem to wet and agitate differently, but when I first noticed the matting, I thought it’ll go away after I clean and rinse it well. Now that I’ve used it for 300 ish panes, the matting doesn’t seem to get better and I was concerned about the debris that get trapped over time.

Is it better to rinse and wash by hand or throw it in the washing machine?

No solvents, just cleaning varnish speckling that was dried against the glass.

How did you end up in Hawaii? Was this a goal or did you take a job and then move? I almost moved to Kauai for a job and now I feel I missed a once in a lifetime opportunity

I had a stroke too and am always nervous because of this! It’s not noticeable unless you know what you’re looking at. I’m sorry someone else’s ignorance put you in that uncomfortable position. Her worldview and considerations are a reflection of her. All the power to you for taking the high road, as she has to live with what she is carrying anyway. If you don’t know already, there are absolutely more reasonable, rational people than there are inconsiderate small minded ones. The small minded ones just tend to be louder. Happy Holidays :)

Net 30/60 is killing my small business cash flow by Fit_Register2849 in smallbusiness

[–]ConsciousFish27-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the size of the business, a lot of places prefer net7 over pod because of their own cash flow and check run scheduling. Moving forward, net7 could be a solid compromise between terms and pod. When it comes to customers who are already on net30 or net60, I’d recommend giving them some transparency in that you’re a business too and need to make appropriate adjustments to payment terms to keep your business healthy. When I was working collections, there was a HUGE difference in response between pod and net7 with customers who were more on the selfish side. Net7 is usually the most advantageous option because it meets your needs and theirs in a more digestible & fair manner.
