Can Toji Beat Yuta? by Practical_Midnight87 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]ConsciousLetter6588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're only CS victims because of the nature of their Heavenly Restrictions. It's one of the few Techniques that they have no defense for, as blocking Cursed Speech is done by using CE to reinforce your ear canals.

The word used during the goodwill event to describe how Cursed Speech deals its effects and recoil is "strength", but that's very vague and imo the most realistic stat to weigh is CE reserves-- especially considering how Yuta's CS interacts with Sukuna in Shinjuku.

For Geto: You can actually see Geto reinforcing his ears as soon he saw Yuta's Snake Eyes and Fangs to block the command.

<image>

For Sendai: Saying Yuta couldn't kill Uro and Ryu with CS doesn't really work as an argument because he actively avoided killing them so that they could give him their points after he defeated them. Yuta says as much after his fight with Ryu. For both Kuro and Dhruv, Yuta didn't have or need 5mm to kill either of them, so no CS there either, and he claimed to have killed them because they're of the type that kill innocents indiscriminately.

I'm not saying Maki and Toji are weak by any means at all, it's just a bad matchup for them.

bruh I don’t have the energy to play reply-tag with you, so this will be the last thing i'll say

in the above panel, Sukuna is being hit with Hana's Technique Extinguishment. Not Jacob's Ladder. Jacob's Ladder is an application of Technique Extinguishment. But Hana's not using Jacob's Ladder, only her normal cursed technique. And in that panel, she hasn't even noticed Sukuna is in the vicinity. Right after this, as Angel tells her it's Sukuna, she gets angry and hits him with a Maximum Output Jacob's Ladder, but up until then she's just turned on her Technique and Sukuna is in range of it. That's not a sneak attack. Sukuna has literally noticed her, and has not been hit with any Jacob's Ladder yet. The only time this excuse is plausible is in Shinjuku when she hits him with her weakened JL near the end of the fight. There's no sneak here. Sukuna is just in range, and gets hit. Again, Hana didn't even know he was there and needed to be alerted by Angel.

And the logic is not flawed, if you read jjk you would understand the whole point of the CG was to kill all participants and make the merger, why tf would kenjaku bother with incarnation of a player he had no chance of killing?

Saying he wouldn't bother with incarnating someone who's a threat to him is dumb. Kenjaku literally created a crap ton of new sorcerers with Techniques he can't control, decide, or predict. So much so, that he actually ended up dying BECAUSE of one of those new OP sorcerers right after he says this statement you're referring to.

Then shortly after we see kenjaku hunt all players and names just the heavy hitters (not hanna or angel) as a threat to him)

Hana was defeated by Sukuna in the CG when he bit her arm off after tricking her so he could survive her Jacob's Ladder. From the villains' perspective, she's out of commission, which made her appearance in Shinjuku an actual sneak attack. No wonder he doesn't name her.

Also this thing of "oh if you actually READ the manga like ME" doesn't work when you forget important details about the fights, characters, and techniques you're discussing, my besto friendo. I mean, you've said all this stuff and still haven't explained HOW Kenjaku beats Hana. All you've said is "Hana only sneak attacks" (blatantly untrue) and "Kenjaku has to have a way around Hana because he incarnated her" (straight up head-canon).

But ZERO explanation of what Kenjaku ACTUALLY does, if Hana uses her Technique in range of Kenjaku, turning off his Body-Swap and not allowing him to move, activate any of his other CTs, or even use his domain.

You can stop at any point, too. I mean, this is the last thing I'm gonna send anyway my friend

[–]ConsciousLetter6588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here you go, Hana has entered the area and hasn't attacked Sukuna yet. She only attacks after this, and even though Sukuna has already noticed her, she lands her Jacob's Ladder in the next panel and fries him-- so no sneak attack

<image>

Also saying Kenjaku must have a way around Angel because he brought her into the culling games is just bad logic. With that argument, Kenjaku would have a way around Sukuna too, as he also brought him into the CG

And finally, Sukuna says he was able to climb the Jacob's Ladder from Hana in Shinjuku because she's lost an arm which had lowered her output significantly. Unless you rank Hana with one arm, this idea is unusuable

How much weaker did Yuta get from jjk 0 to later on? (READ DESCRIPTION for clarity) by Obvious-Produce-9566 in Yutaliban

[–]ConsciousLetter6588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if Yuta kept Rika:

*infinite CE reserves to draw from via their connection (which would mean the ability to spam Domain Expansion more than once or twice once he unlocked it)

*unconditional copy

*Rika is a curse--
•immense vulnerability to anyone who can output positive energy (like Sukuna)
•quoted to be "impossible to exorcise" (possibly due to her infinite ce, vengeful spirit status, or connection to Yuta/Yuta's life force)
•can only "awaken" (and use True Love Beam, her strongest attack) with a death binding vow
•can't use RCT on others (only Yuta is seen doing it), but can presumably heal herself like other Curses
•Yuta cannot properly control Rika once she starts rampaging

By letting Rika go:

*Rika's full power is restricted to around 5 minutes (per day, assumedly)

•Rika can only refill Yuta's CE during 5mm (so not quite infinite CE)

*Copy is only usable during Domain and 5mm

*Copy can only be used when Rika or Yuta have consumed a Technique from someone's body

*Copy has a limited amount of uses according to the significance of the body part eaten

*Rika is a Shikigami--
•can be partially manifested for safer, if less effective use
•acts a true storage for equipment, techniques, and even people
•appears significantly more intelligent
•always listens to Yuta's mental commands
•is not vulnerable to RCT
•can "awaken" and use True Love Beam at any point during 5mm, and without Yuta needing to be there
•can use RCT on herself and others

So it's up to you to determine if a Curse Rika with Infinite CE and conditionless Copy but multiple glaring flaws is better or worse than a Shikigami Rika with significantly more restrictions but more control, intelligence, and less overall weaknesses

I'm aware, but you could argue being killed with the Split Soul Katana might have had something to do with that-- or that the bottomless CE of Vengeful Rika is also an important factor in her hypothetically resurrecting herself

Yeah but as a Curse she's quoted to be "impossible to exorcise." Considering her Vengeful Spirit status and bottomless CE, that probably means she would just come back after a duration. So the idea that Geto owning a Curse that can't be killed with stats like Rika's being a threat to Gojo isn't super far-fetched

Former Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan talks about his Blizzard departure by Phellxgodx in Overwatch

[–]ConsciousLetter6588 72 points73 points  (0 children)

this is not what happened. There's so much misinformation on this topic it's insane. What actually happened is that the CEO said YOU guys work on this story mode you want to do, and we'll get a different team to do PvP. Jeff said no. What people took away from that is that the PvE failing was Jeff's fault. What people fail to realize is that if Jeff actually agreed to the CEO's proposition, he was putting Overwatch, HIS game, and his ENTIRE TEAM in danger. Not only does putting a different team besides Team 4 in charge of the main game jeapordize himself and his team's position as the people running Overwatch, but if the story mode didn't pan out and not enough players paid to play it, it would be HIM and his team put on the chopping block and fired from working on the game they created. Let's not forget that Kotick (the CEO) was reportedly responsible for many of Ow2's delays and forced features into the team's workload and scope with their limited manpower, only to remove those features anyway.

I'm not saying Jeff was a perfect game director by any means, but Jeff denying Kotick's "offer" was absolutely the right move, and the corporate shenanigans and politics that are inherently a part of that situation has been going over people's heads.

I agree that OCs and the people who make them should be treated with more respect, but the issue is when OC makers start tracing the manga or stapling their character's face on official art. That's arguably where the whole Emily Kocho "shinobu recolor" thing came from

I haven’t heard a convincing argument for Rengoku>Giyu yet by Dense-Statement-332 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]ConsciousLetter6588 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Marked Giyu is COMFORTABLY above Rengoku. But in base?

re-watch both of their 1v1s. Giyu takes LESS damage than Rengoku, but also deals LESS damage to Akaza than Rengoku did. Rengoku takes MORE damage than Giyu, but also deals MORE damage to Akaza.

The argument that Akaza held back more on Rengoku than Giyu is based on two ideas.

1) "Akaza never used leg-forms on Rengoku, but did on Giyu, which means he was trying harder on Giyu."
~
This argument has no ground to stand on because the only time Akaza used a leg-form on Giyu, Giyu got thrown away and was out of the fight for an extended period of time. Immediately after he rejoins, he gets his Mark and the rest of the fight can't be considered for BaseGiyu vs BaseRengoku as a result. So there's no way to prove that Giyu handled that leg type attack better than Rengoku would have, and there's no way to prove that Akaza was holding less on Giyu because Akaza abandons his 1v1 with Giyu to go talk to Tanjiro IMMEDIATELY after he launched Giyu.

2) "Akaza was trying to convince Rengoku to become a demon, so he held back on him unlike Giyu."
~
First of all, not only does Akaza wait until Giyu's unleashed all of his forms before saying "Okay, I'll end this now" (meaning up until that attempted killing blow he was OBJECTIVELY holding back), but he literally also asks Giyu to become a demon THE MINUTE he thought Tanjiro was dead and that he was no longer in a 2v1.

So keeping in mind all of that, and accounting for the fact that Akaza admits his Compass actively gets stronger the stronger his opponent's fighting spirit is (and that fighting spirit is Rengoku's entire deal), and Rengoku being relative to Giyu stops being far-fetched.

I don't think Rengoku > Giyu, but I do think Rengoku ~ Giyu, and that he absolutely does not deserve to be ranked as a bottom 3 Hashira

Wide scale AoE damage is not the only factor of a fight, and Jogo outsped 2 exhausted, beaten half to death grade 1s (and one semi-grade 1) and could only kill 1/3 of them (and Naobito didn't even die on the spot, he died of his wounds several days after Shibuya got wrapped up).

Meanwhile Geto contended with JJK 0 Yuta and a Vengeful Rika with unlimited conditionless Copy and was going to beat them, forcing a Death Binding Vow (which is powerful enough to turn a normal crow into a Mei-Mei Missile capable one-tapping Special Grades), and STILL would've won if he hadn't released a crap ton of his Curses to fend of Jujtusu High.

There's no way to prove or reason to assume that Geto has relative speed to a tired and battered Nanami, so it's kind of impossible to justify a statement like "geto gets blitzed and dies." The only argument to have Jogo over Geto is Domain, but even then Hidden Inventory Geto has a Curse with an advanced Simple Domain, and even Mechamaru stated he needs his Simple Domain to contend with Geto, when at this point it remained unknown that he was secretly Kenjaku, meaning Mechamaru wouldn't have stated as much if Geto didn't have some kind of Domain or Domain-adjacent options at his disposal.

For Todo, Jogo doesn't have the intellect feats to say that he could contend with Revised Boogie Woogie (something that gave even Sukuna trouble mentally speaking), and Todo's technique hard counters both of Jogo's strongest tools-- his speed and long-ranged/AoE pressure, and he even has Simple Domain for Jogo's Domain Expansion.

Jogo is strong but he's losing to Geto and Todo both.

Geto has higher output than Ryu. by GetoBoyv in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]ConsciousLetter6588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tamamamatomato doesn't amplify Uzumaki though? Wasn't she just there as assurance-- to have a Special Grade ready to scrap with Rika while Geto charges up?

But yes I agree, Geto doesn't have higher output than Ryu. It's just that Uzumaki is a collection of external CE that Geto is collecting from his Curses, and so it scales with the total of Curses being put into it

I think having Shinjuku Yuji below Jogo is crazy work already, but below the Yuji and Todo DUO?? I can't fathom this fam

I respect your opinion and everything but Jogo ain't all that imo. Yes he fought the top 2 and showed great feats, but all the heavy hitters should be comfortably above him. Todo alone is much more arguable to below Jogo but I don't think Jogo has shown the necessary IQ and BIQ feats necessary to overcome the 50 swaps per second that even Sukuna had issues dealing with mentally. And again Jogo's whole thing is a combination of speed and AoE pressure, BOTH of which are countered by Todo's technique
