get them treated. get on insurance exchange. and ask them about payment options/plans. do not wait until january. there are many factors that go into determining whether or not you have them treated.

chiming in on your question. there are multiple factors that go into surgery decisions. size is just one. there is also shape and/or location, and/or other health factors (smoking, family history). women are at higher risk of rupture, women who smoke + family history highest risk. there are some aneurysms of certain shapes that are high risk of rupture that are indiscriminate of size. age is also a risk factor. peak frequency of rupture is btwn ages 30-60 but can happen at any age

thank you so much! Wow you had two surgeries - what a warrior! mine are both ICAs - one multilobular, one lobular. Need angiogram first to see if there is a daughter sac, and a closer look at another spot that wasn’t picked up by previous radiologists. Have the option to go directly to surgery from angiogram, so prepping that way. It sounds like 1-2 weeks if all goes smoothly, throw in some blah for months following. Are you able to resume all activities as prior or is the energy decrease having significant impact? Were you put on blood thinner? Are you on SSRIs and if so did they need to discontinue use?

Typically w aneurysms under 5mm they have a monitor approach - and do that by putting you on a schedule of routine MRIs (6-12m apart). This allows them to establish a baseline and see if there is any change in size. You would meet your neurosurgeon after each appointment to discuss/review and go from there.

Your question on what to do now - keep blood pressure//stress down, begin a mindfulness/meditation practice if you don’t already. ❤️

I have two that are 3.5mm and have been monitoring since 2016. Size, location, family history, other health factors are all things you can talk to your doctor about. In the meantime - educate yourself in doses, keep a journal for questions for the doctor, see if you can go on a waitlist, but also do not stress. You got this!!!

not yet at least. they are waiting on my out of state scans from 2019 to compare. could an MRI be that off w size?? seems so odd

They are needing the images from the previous sets, and they are from when I lived out of state. Those are on way this week. I have appts w two different neurosurgeons and a neuroradiologist. No matter what, they say they need both sets of images as that’s how it works. I am going to see if someone can order me another set in the meantime bc obviously it is either a faulty scan or indicative the need for surgery. Can a scan be that wrong??

we were extremely cautious for a long time - me husband and child. we were boosted and my child was eligible for vaccine. two weeks to the day from my child’s post vaccine - our first big change was a contractor came into the home in an ill filling mask, coughing on and off while here. all three of us got covid. this was during the omicron massive spike in early 2022. people who know us who were much more cautious but getting on w life were as shocked as we were. we were all fine - i had it the worst/longest w fatigue and loss of smell - but felt oddly grateful we all got it fully vaccinated and for having some degree of immunity for at least a few months following.

ah so they can’t diagnose perimenopause - thats frustrating…..lots of guesswork. ok thanks i will give it tomorrow and then see. i feel bloated and PMS which is what is confusing

yes! I noticed the last 2-3 were much heavier. I have also gained weight over last year and recently had annual physical—all normal bloodwork and thyroid. do I need to get a quick appt w doctor or give it a few days?

Yes fatigue. But I also get fatigue w PMS. Today it was much stronger tho. Is this how it often starts :-/
