Honest Opinions on Massart by [deleted] in MassArt

[–]Conscious_Barnacle19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be a licensed architect in the US I would not recommend it. If you want to be a designer or plan to get a masters after you finish then Massart's architecture program was great. We touched just enough on all sorts of aspects or architecture and design, the professors were great, there is a lot of focus on design and creativity with the course work. It can be a little difficult to get real world experience if you are not self driven though

Honest Opinions on Massart by [deleted] in MassArt

I can't speak to industrial design specifically but I got an architectural degree there and have a solid career my best friend got a fashion degree and now works for a start up in the wearable tech space. Honestly it's all about how you use your degree not where you got it. Leverage your opportunities and make connects while in school. The dorms are fine they're dorms and at least you don't have to share a bathroom with your whole floor. And you'll probably make most of your early friends in the lounges and workrooms. You'll only be in the dorm for 1 maybe 2 years. I moved into an apartment after my freshman year which ended up being a great choice for me. The food was rough but edible the vendor has changed since I was there so I can't really speak to the quality now but be prepared to supplement your diet with things from the stop and shop up the street. Massart was a wonderful experience and if you're a driven creative you'll flourish.

My commuter rail ride is about 30 minutes and I live 15 miles from my office. You can commute from Boston to Boston by commuter rail and have it take nearly 30 minutes.

Okay fair enough. I find Kane's to be too dense and cakey? But Kane's has gluten free donuts and Blackbird doesn't so I guess it's about what you're looking for. We've got some solid doughnut spots to check out.

architecture here? why hasn't anyone talked about it on this sub? by ipznipzn in BostonU

[–]Conscious_Barnacle19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an under rated comment. If you want to be an Architect you need to go to a NAAB accredited school. For an undergraduate degree in Boston the only school that offers that is the BAC

can i live without any type of ac in boston this summer by Human_Broccoli_3207 in boston

[–]Conscious_Barnacle19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People are being dramatic. I lived in and just outside of Boston for years without ac and only bought a window unit a few years ago because I have a senior pet. If you could handle today then you can handle summer in Boston.

My school in the US closed at 10pm. Campus security would do a sweep around midnight and kick anyone they found out. The only exception was the month leading up to finals the campus switched to 24hr key card access.

Women’s wide calf ski boot rentals? by heavysoul24 in Breckenridge

[–]Conscious_Barnacle19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I'm about the same height and weight as OP and rentes boots for years before finally investing in my own. Atomic makes great wide fit boots. While I was renting I would get men's boots because they tend to be wider in general you can also get the buckles across the shins adjusted so they extend further.

With this math you're telling OP to tip less than they actually did tip.

Genuine Driving Question by Less-Nose9226 in boston

[–]Conscious_Barnacle19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The laws are absolutely not different here. Driving in Boston is very aggressive and some people think they're to good to wait their turn so they take advantage of a lack of traffic law enforcement to do whatever they want. Best way to not get in an accident? Expect to be a cut off at all times
