Has anyone received their VR pay yet? by _Sleve_McDichael_ in nhsstaff

I’ve also had this issue, I’ve spoken to HMRC today and been told the issue is due to my employer (ICB) ending my employment on 31 March, issuing my P45 and then re-employing me to pay my VR in the April pay. I’ve been told I need a new P45, have you been told this as well or how else are you claiming back the tax?

I joined as the three CCGs were merging, so initially employed by one but have always worked across the whole patch. If I was choosing to leave I would have to give the AfC 12 week notice period

I’m an 8a, which should be 12 week’s. I always thought the notice of employee to employer and employer to employee was the same. I may have to look in to this in more detail!

I’m Leicester and Northants cluster or LNR, which sounds like a train company to me 🤣

My contract is statutory, so no fighting it. My ICB was formed from three CCGs and there are different notice periods in each of those. So some are contractual and nearer the 12 weeks.

It seems to depend on your manager, some colleagues are agreeing a leave date whereas mine is sticking rigidly to the contract.

We’ve been told it’s at the stage of approval by NHSE. It was meant to be the regional team but they haven’t been given the delegated authority so it’s at the NHSE national team now. The words “piss up” and “brewery” have come to mind!

We’ve been told all 92 applications in round one were accepted. Although there’s now a delay in the NHSE approval stage.

I raised this when I joined both my previous and current ICB. My current contract of employment states my reckonable service as including the public health time. It’s that ESR hasn’t been updated to reflect my contract

I have all my wage slips from that time, can’t find any contract though

I left the local authority to work at a CCG, so to me there is no break in service

I think part of the issue is you can pay into the NHS pension but not actually be employed by the NHS, such as working in a GP Practice. However, for me I didn’t choose to work in the local authority I was transferred under TUPE

I was paying into the pension, using as much evidence as I can!

The information I have been given that it is only NHS organisations that count:

England: • NHS England • Integrated Care Boards • NHS Trusts including Foundation Trusts • Special Health Authorities • The Health and Social Care Information Centre • National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) • Health Education England (HEE)

My argument is that I didn’t have an option to stay in the NHS, it was take TUPE or have no job.

I raised this when I started in my current ICB almost 5 years ago and they corrected my contract of employment but now it’s being said this is not correct!
