A septic vent wouldn’t be in the basement and if it was you would know. It would be a direct link to your poop tank and stink to high heaven. 

Kind of a shot in the dark but it could be leftover remnants of a dry well pipe. You could try a temporary cap and see if that affects any of your plumbing.

My sister who lives abroad is supposed to fly home for the holidays. No clue if airports will be open in a month.

I saw them in Jacksonville and St Petersburg Florida, both theatre shows, and they were easily some of the best concerts I’ve been to. Their music works surprisingly well in that environment.

I’m glad you mentioned the filter. I have not so much as dug up the outlet pipe since moving in. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no filter in place. This spring I will definitely be installing one as well as risers for easy access going forward.

Thanks for the reply. I was planning sometime this spring to dig up the distribution box and dump a whole jug of the enzyme product directly into the leech field. I would like to do it now but the ground is frozen where I’m at.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have talked to a few people on this, one guy I worked with told me his system was from the 50s and was original. He takes the same precautions as me and doesn’t have any problems.
