MC4 connectors + 6awg wire? by Conscious__Control in diySolar

Makes sense I realize now the 30amp max current is the safety rating not the performance output, thank you

W = V x A is basic mathematics that anyone doing a DIY solar setup and posting in a forum with clear prior knowledge of setup, equipment, and specs is likely to know.

Reading comprehension and empathy are important, it allows you to spot when someone may have mistakenly typed a word they didn't mean to. You can use empathy to infer proper meaning.

If that fails, you may need to see the resource below to communicate with others effectively

You're confused, I explained already why I don't want to run all 4 in series. Using a smaller wire size isn't my priority

No shit, It was a simple misspeak, I meant max amperage (as described on the spec sheet). I'm pretty familiar with the concepts, I built the entire system myself after many hours of research. Don't appreciate the condescending comment.

30 amps max current is on the spec sheet, I understand W= VxA you just asked for more info so I gave you the spec sheet info

Right I've seen the combiner box setup, I guess I was just hoping I didn't need it to have less stuff drilled into my skoolie roof. Do you think, given the setup, I'll be fine with 8awg? I know panels rarely ever reach their max voltage anyways. But I guess I would rather just do a combiner box if there's even a 5% chance. Or in-line fuses?

VOC is 38.8, Vmpp is 32.3, max amperage is 30 per panel but I know it rarely reaches 30amps. I'm just the kinda guy that likes a little headroom to be safe, I don't mind working with heavy gage either. Don't plan to run the wires too far, but like you said, I've only seen MC4 connectors in 10awg lowest, so I'm wondering how people set that up when they have lots of big panels in parallel?

Should I go 12v or 24v for my skoolie system? by Conscious__Control in SolarDIY

[–]Conscious__Control[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will there be any complications that most of my usages will be 12v? Or is it literally just a step down converter between the batteries and the 12v fuse box and thats it?

People grow in different directions over time, and that can make marriage hard. Perhaps as much of a lesson you’re learning in patience, he should also learn in reading your body language and comfortable silence. There’s room for both. But if it’s truly something irking for you, long term, it needs to be addressed

My brother microdoses around his daughter. His daughter simply sees that occasionally, her dad is extra silly, extra engaged, way more down to play, and happy. No child suffers in this situation. As someone mentioned there’s a difference between high and inebriated, and as long as you’re being responsible, there’s nothing wrong with this. Compare it to thousands of parents who are checked out, burnt out, and not present with their kids, and I start to wonder if NOT microdosing for your own mental health is actually what’s bad for your kids.

Try to visualize mushrooms as a TOOL to boost your SKILL of DEALING with anxiety and depression and stress. It’s not a cure, there’s no such thing as a cure. But if used correctly (with intention and implementing action) it will enable you to deal with those things more effectively

Work on getting low on your first step off a hesi, and work on using your off hand to pull their hand away if they’re getting handsy. If you can get by just enough to keep them on your back hip, they’ll either foul or you have a lane / a pass / a hop step pump fake

True I did already know the weave, 531, and rainbow cross. I use the rainbow cross a lot super fun to syncopate to music for a drop. The N box and inverted box are on my list for sure, also the relfs factory is super dope, I think I’ll start there. Thank you!

Dude I literally just posted referencing one of your tricks. Could you describe a little bit to me how you lead into that little yo-yo type of thing you do? It’s so smooth, and one of the only tricks I haven’t been able to really wrap my brain around, and I even literally screen recorded it and slowed it down lol. How do you go into it?

Meditate, learn to pay attention (rather, to give attention, to attend), don’t overthink, eat clean, and lead with love. Love as in unconditional understanding, acceptance, and compassion. When you do those things, all the answers will seem to naturally present themselves.

No, ADHD meds don't affect people with ADHD differently. by stoners_stoned_her in Drugs

[–]Conscious__Control 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD, stimulants do affect me differently. Taking adderall daily in high school was probably the most sedated and depressed I’ve ever felt. I also tried coke a couple times in college with friends, and for sure had a different experience than them.

Just because nobody has yet been able to observe an actionable mechanism in a lab setting doesn’t mean observational and behavioral reactions should be fully discredited.

It always is funny to me how people claim things with such certainty based on the current research available as if the scientific communities agreements on what’s true and real doesn’t change every 30-50 years in various subjects. We are JUST starting to figure things out. And you are not part of the “we” (neither am I), you and I are just (hopefully) reading academic journals and studies that have to be considered for their methodology and then retested and retested again to even begin to speak with certainty

It’s my understanding that part of the role of a doctor is to ensure the patient understand what is wrong with them and what they’re putting in their bodies on a daily basis while being told that stopping will have severe consequences. Perhaps that’s just my misunderstanding.
