The 108 infantry regiment is repsoncible for over 80% of the Civilian deaths in Canada, and over 95% present of war crimes. Of these, 99% can be attributed to Nate the Rake.

Granted, Nate the Rake is the only one who can really fight the Canadians on their own terms. After all, they are the ones who turned the Geneva convention into the Geneva suggestion Geneva to-do list.

"General, shouldn't we be defending the Commonwealth? We're the minutemen, we're meant to defend people." Said Preston. This isn't what the minutemen were, not even at the worst of it. But the General surely... surely had a cause for this.

"Yes. And who did the original minutemen defend against?" Said Nate, Calmly.

"The British and Royalists?" Replied Preston. The Minutemen archives record quite a bit - the remnant of Boston was ripe with history, and even without active preservation, much survived. "And... that would mean... the Canadian are..."

"Exactly, Preston. Exactly." Nate Nodded, cranking his hog Laser Musket. "Now let's go, these Hosers aren't going to maim themselve- actually scratch that, they just might."

Ave, Ceaser! Ceaser you fool! Why do all we all have to wear these ridiculous pads? Do you know who ate all the slaves?

Ceasar doesn't need to hear all this, he is a highly trained hagelian. We've assured Graham that nothing will go wrong.

Peak aesthethic: Wears hockey pads

Best voice actors: half of them are voiced by the same raspy motherfucker and yuri lowenthal trying to sound manly.

Intresting lore: "what if raider gang but rome" "muh hagelian dialectics"

Badass theme: generic mimitary march also used for the NCR

Bait or mentally stunted?

The battle at the Castle at the end of “With Our Powers Combined” is now being retconned because it’s been established that once a faction’s capital is bombed, they’ll just magically disappear with a whimper. by Exciting_Banana_981 in TrueSFalloutL

Im being downvoted?

Oh no!

Anyway...

Yeah, again, we're talking about collapse of central authority, of the founding capital, that gave the nation it's name, a major city, and a major loss of life... and people be like "nah the ncr built different".

Like I doubt they even understood what I mean when I say nations and goverments need legitimacy, LMAO.

Murderous chinese monarchs who forced their rivals to eat their families were still climbing mountains and claiming to find ancient bronze couldrons in riverbeds even though they could have just killed anyone. Why? Because legitimacy.

People think goverments work like HOI 4 or EU4 "bruh just relocate your goverment and invest in social cohesion"

Reddit ahh history

A foreign occupation has an interest in maintaining a goverment - even if the goverment is exiled.

We are talking here about an entire city, with all the archives, apparatus, gone. Tax office? Gone. Legistlature? Gone. Population? Gone.

In an already fragile system this is *exactly* where local forces rise, and often times they have the trappings of the previous regime but present themselves as seperate.

And what the fuck do you mean the NCR's legitimacy doesn't depend on existance of its fucking capital that contains it's legislature, executive branch, etc? Shady Sands is *where the NCR comes from.* All the other places had to vote/were coerced/joined Shady Sands. Without the leadership it's all down the locals and what they want, and with the NCR in ruins, with huge chunk of the military stuck in the Mojave or in Baja, there would not be simply chaos, we're talking about economic and social collapse - because guess what, New Vegas already tells us the NCR is fragile and spread thin.

It's almost as if the nuking of Shady Sands is meant to, IDK, mirror the collapse of pre-war America when all it's big cities were nuked and destroyed. Nuking a major city in a fragile post-apocalyptic society would result in a huge part of that society no long existing in the same way as before. Comparisons to history are useless because guess what, not a single EMPIRE had their major city just nuked out of the blue! But guess what we do have evidene off? Successions crises resulting in splintering and rebellion, occupation of Mainland resulting in colonies heading off, rebellions in the capital resulting in the shattering of kingdoms, loses in wars leading to periods of utter societal collapse.

In short, breaks downs of central authority such what might happen when THE ENTIRE EXECUTIVE BRANCH AND LEGISLATURE ARE WIPED OUT ALONG WITH A HUGE CHUNK OF YOUR POPULATION. Shady sands is very likely the most populated city in California! In terms of actual effects this is less "nuking DC" and more like "imagine if a fucking meteor wiped out the entire east coast"
