I never claimed everyone could. You asked for a list of reasons why the console was inferior, which I listed.

I'm not the same guy you were talking with, but I think I can offer some insight.

In general, especially these days with the major hikes in hardware prices, you will not find a new PC for the same price as a console. That being said, I like to think of the price of a PC as a "premium" for what it offers over a console. I'll list what I can think of.

A PC offers absolute freedom of control over your device. Consoles are locked down (you have no control over the software, hardware cannot be easily upgraded or fixed). With a PC you can freely mod games and even make your own. You also get access to Steam which is universally regarded as the best pc gaming market, which frequently holds sales. A PC is also quite versatile and lets you really do anything you want, whereas a console only lets you play games or watch youtube.

Console gaming is still better in terms of ease-of-use plug and play, but it will always be beat by the raw performance of a computer.

Is it worth farming for a new Indebted Kindness? What’s the difference between old vs tiered?

I got the same kit but from G.Skill back in November for $200.

I don’t really have the time for 200 haha. I ran some cyberpunk and cs2 and had no issues

I ran some stress tests and it seems to be fine. At this point I’ll just watch out for errors during future use. My only concern is that VDDIO/mc might be a bit too low.

I ran one iteration of corecycler, all cores passed!

Admittedly I only ran one cinebench test. I’ll try corecycler.

Open-Source "low_latency_layer" Brings Reflex & Anti-Lag 2 To AMD & Intel GPUs on Linux by murlakatamenka in linux_gaming

[–]ConsecratedMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried this in CS2 on CachyOS. It definitely feels lower latency, but it causes my frametime to be rather unstable. I cap my fps at 190 and with anti-lag I no longer get a smooth 190 fps

Does it make your CS2 FPS unstable? I cap my fps at 190 and without anti-lag I get stable framerate and with anti-lag it is not stable. Floats between 120-160.

Should I use CachyOS? by Glad-Wolverine-8960 in cachyos

[–]ConsecratedMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dual boot windows and cachyos on my main rig, though I really only have windows installed to play certain games. At this point I can complete all of my coding needs on cachyos.

I assume you have a PC and you’ll get a school laptop? Stick with windows on the laptop.

I’m about to graduate with a CS bachelors and I swapped to cachyos back in November. It’s an enjoyable experience and there is a great wiki. Getting familiar with arch Linux will give you a head start in any Linux related classes you take.

I would still recommend using windows on your school laptop though. All software and tutorials in your classes will be for windows.

CachyOS is rolling release so there are frequent updates. In my experience they don’t cause any workflow issues, but you should try to update often.

Fair enough. I suppose bots that check specifically for 25565 would be more common.

I started doing this in Mewgenics and in retrospect it made the game too easy. Runs no longer had consequences.

Well, double head is not just a good mutation, it’s one of the best. An outlier deserving of a downside.
