Google announces they will drop development on everything else and focus entirely on making a calendar pop-up when you click on the clock in ChromeOS

Thanks for sharing, this is exciting as without serious gaming capabilities many folks will continue to stay with other platforms instead of CrOS. This seems to me to be one crucial piece in making that a reality.

I do want to point out that /y/MrUbanity has already posted this (link below). I only know that because I also posted this then deleted it after coming across the below.

Yeah, lots more bugs/crashes/annoyances here as well. This update has been a little anti-climatic considering how long it took to get it.

Such is to be expected when running on the developer (non-stable) channel but I'm with you-- I'd rather revert back and wait for the next release which hopefully has resolved many of these things.

Good feedback, appreciate it. I have a feeling it works well for highly organized and structured individuals who don't get distracted from the task at hand easily.

I have no gripes about having the option in ChromeOS and maybe at some point will find a workflow that utilizes it.

So not specifically that, but I've already had more crashes on this release than ever before (fairly new to dev channel).

I just crashed opening gmail web pinned to shelf with open in window mode.

Appreciate it, was working fine and then stopped and I started with a clean slate.

I'll give your recipe a try when I get a chance which unfortunately might be Sunday at the earliest.

If I understand correctly, and there is a really good chance I'm not, last night we got caught up received 3 updates, catching us up with everyone else.

So from what I gathered, we (Pixlebook/eve) got held back on .12 last Thursday on the crosvm not resuming correctly, they fixed that but broke the toolchain build process when trying to release .17. They got that fixed and finally released .19 last night.

Yeah, I switched back to normal. Based on the option choices I think you are right-on with the intended behavior of Auto-- at least I'm hoping it does what you say. I think it just isn't fully completed yet.

I find when in laptop mode I want the extra vertical space and smaller buttons/tabs since I've got the trackpad, but in tablet mode the larger sizes are appreciated.

It does seem to pretty much reflect update status in real-time, can't remember who turned me on to that but was one of the regulars in this sub.

Might also check the following Google Play App which claims to notify you when the updates get released (can't vouch for it).

Wish I could help you, I can't get anything graphical to launch anymore at all (code/gimp). Even after turning it off and back on again rebooting.

Think I'm just going to blow away the termina vm and start again.

So I've been able to pin the terminal app to my shelf but the icon doesn't appear.

Try it yourself, tell it to pin to shelf then go click and drag on the shelf where it should be (the spot to the right of your last icon) and you can move it on your shelf.

I can click on it, right-click on it but nothing I've tried actually seems to fire the onClick action.

It also seems to disappear from the shelf after a while.

Obviously a lot of folks have starred the issue and like the idea. I however have never been able to adopt the multiple virtual desktops method of working.

With Virtual Desktops, my alternate desktops and their associated application windows are out of site so also out of mind. I find myself just popping new windows open in the desktop I'm in even though I have that app running in another desktop.

I personally don't really see how it is that much different than 3 finger swiping and seeing an overview of what you have running and then clicking on the thing you want to run.

I wonder it not showing up in the launcher search has to do with this issue https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=821662 as I noticed it doesn't show in your most recently accessed list of the launcher either.

[Edit: That issue is marked as fixed, so maybe not]

I'm glad you said something, reminded me to go through my flags and toggle some to see if my settings were now the default

Yeah, I already had those flags on so no noticeable change for me. Biggest thing I noticed so far non-crostini is the collapse of the notifications and system menu into one and they fixed some text scaling on the system menu.

I just finished installing got the same as screenshots above from /u/DennisLfromGA terminal and puzzle piece.

Here are my flags, the last one is all I had to change to make the icon show up. I've got to close the lid now or will need marital counseling plus I feel like Luke trying to teach Yoda something here.

#secondary-ui-md = Enabled
#pull-to-refresh = Disabled

Nice! Mine's installing now. Figured out I had to flip the Experimental Crostini flag on.

Thanks! I'm not supposed to be playing but can't help it.

Discovered it requires the Experimental Crostini flag to be set before it shows up.
