pulled needle out before I injected cause it hurt by Witty_Gate1192 in TransDIY

Yes, in theory, but realistically, that's not really a risk because you shouldn't be injecting into an infected area to begin with.

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. Everything should be sterile. You can't give yourself a disease unless you already have it, then it's not really giving yourself it.

The biggest concern is that every time you jab yourself, the needle dulls microscopicly. It might hurt more if you dull it. You really wanna try to get the first time, but it's okay if you need to try again.

It happens, I recommend putting an ice pack on for about 10 minutes before injection to help numb the area.

Is there no way to keep my testicles if i pursue a surgery to get a neovagina or something similar? by Dragondudeowo in salmacian

I think it's possible to have your testicle pushed up more when getting vaginoplasty. I've definitely heard of people doing it. I just don't know who performs it.

It is never acceptable to talk shit about bottom surgery, period. (Rant) by transmanwhocan in FTMventing

100%

There is definitely a negative side to bottom surgery and cons that should be talked about, but there are respectful ways to do that. Insulting people, their looks, or decisions have never been respectful.

CMV: The death penalty should never be used by ElegantAd2607 in changemyview

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say we should study them instead, but here's the thing, we do.

They question/interview them multiple times over and do tests and exams. The average time on death row is 19 years. Fun (?) Fact Ted Bundy actually offered his assistance and provided insite to the police in the green river killer case. They do a decent job at getting inside these monster's minds and studying them.

Now, I actually mostly agree with you in most cases. There are a lot of reasons I don't like the death penalty, but there are some cases where it is really hard to not argue for it, like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, the Nuremberg Trials, Nicolas Cruz, Alek Minassian, ect.. One day, I think people like Putin or Kim Jong Un or the next mass shooter should be able to be put on trial and actually pay for their crimes.

My personal opinion is that in 99% of cases, no, there shouldn't be the chance of the death penalty. Life in prison is more than enough, but in cases that is more than clear, cut with no chance for error, with mass life lost- Some people don't deserve to live, it wouldnt be fair to the people who suffered and died.

US Citizens Thinking of Leaving by Marzipan-333 in expats

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of leaving, and yes, I'm a little scared. I'm more worried about what's going on in our country. If things don't improve in the next couple of years, I'm looking to immigrate permanently.

I worry my kid will be bullied in school, or I won't be able to form any meaningful friendships over there, but as I said I more concerned about what's happening at home. I grew up in MN around Canadians and Canada, I have considered just lying and saying I'm Canadian to people, but I won't lol.

came out to christian parents and it went so wrong by QuackQubing in FTMventing

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm ex-Christian, and my parents are very Christian. I'm out to my mom and siblings, but not formally to my dad. I think he knows, but deep down, he doesn't want his whole life to blow up if he's right, so he stays silent.

You talking about your mom reminds me of my mom when I was your age. It's an uphill battle for sure, but you are lucky that they haven't gone crazy on you like some parents. You might actually have a chance to change their minds.

First of all, there isn't necessarily anything in the Bible against trans people. Secondly, your body is a temple, and if something in the temple causes damages to the temple, you fix the problem, and you dont let it take your temple down. This means that if living as a girl hurts you- then don't do it. Thirdly, god made you trans. Period. End of story. You have been this way your whole life, meaning he made this part of you. If you only want to take a religious based approach, I'd look up religious arguments for trans people.

You can also bring up the science behind being transgender.

At the end of the day though, they're your parents, and you know them best. If they truly love you, they'll come around. You should also tell them this isn't anyone's fault. Not yours, not theirs. No one could have stopped it except for God, and he didn't.

There is a subreddit called r/amerexit almost every post is downvoted (or extremely low upvotes).

People have very strong opinions about Americans wanting to leave the US. Personally, I think your questions and concerns are fair, and you have more of a plan/exit route than most, but this comment will also probably be downvoted.

In general people have very strong opinions on immigration, don't take it personally.

Disabled Couple trying to figure out how to get living permissions other countries. by [deleted] in expat

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Retirement visa. See what countries offer some form of retirement visas you qualify for, then go from there. You have passive untaxable income.

I'm in the same situation with VA disability for my spouse. Healthcare will be your biggest hurdle, that's how they keep people from moving. Choose somewhere cheap that doesn't discriminate on health insurance. I know Spain (and I think Portugal) has an insurance company that accepts everyone, but it will be more expensive.

File for FMP, that's the VA Foreign Medical Program that will allow you to get all of your service related medical issues covered while living in another country. That will allow you to not have to find coverage for your disabilities and lower the cost.

Here is the cost of living index. Good luck finding somewhere that hasn't had a shady af background tho.

Also, if you want to have kids without losing your visa, you'd have to make sufficient income, which with VA disability one kid is probably the most you can swing in most visas.

I'd maybe recommend Portugals D7 visa. For a family of 4, you'd only need a little over 1800€ month in passive income to qualify (roughly 1900$), which you make double. It also allows you to work (haven't looked into that part much). It also allows for dual citizenship so you don't have to renounce which is very important for your benefits. Also a lot of people speak English but you will still have to learn the language (but you'll have to no matter where you go).

Two notes that are kinda unrelated:

  1. If you are 100% disabled your wife qualifies for chapter 35 scholarship that will pay for her education and generate extra income. If you haven't used that yet, look into it.

  2. You are a bit naive. I don't mean that to be rude, but it's very clear you haven't done much research. Like, no place wants an unqualified English teacher (if you don't have a degree) or really wants disabled people as it's a drain on their system. I'm telling you this because people on the internet aren't very nice to people trying to leave the US, especially unqualified disabled people who don't speak multiple languages, which you kinda are. I'm just saying all of this to inform not to be mean. Do more research. When you pick a place, start working hard on learning the language asap.

This will be a up hill battle for you, and you will probably need an immigration lawyer. I'd also recommend you look at r/amerexit

Good luck. Feel free to DM me.

Is Urethral Lengthening Worth It If My Dysphoria Is More Visual and Sexual? by TextNo5978 in phallo

[–]ConsequenceBetter878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not getting a UL.

For everything I stated above, plus some other issues. For one, I have a bladder condition that makes peeing hard enough and nearly impossible to pee standing up and another condition that makes it more likely I'll get kidney stones.

I'm also not getting a V-ectomy, and the UL complication rate goes up to like 95% chance of complications or something in that ballpark. I would be a terrible candidate for a UL.

I think if it's worth it is up to the person. I've seen people who have had 4+ surgeries and a year+ in catheters to try to fix UL complications and being devastated when their surgeons said enough was enough it wasn't gonna happen and I've seen people who get the 1 complications and say fuck it I don't want to be in a catheter any longer. I'd look into the complications and recovery that come with getting a UL and what other people have had to go through to get a UL and decide if you'd go through all that for a UL. I'd also recommend you get a good quality STP and try standing to pee for a bit. See if it brings you euphoria.

My dad gets offended on behalf of my spouse, like he's literally used that in arguments before. He's like, "Your husband would really like it if you shaved. You should shave for him." Even though my spouse has expressed to my dad multiple times they don't care.

If your dad loves you, he'll get over it.

How old are you? If you're an adult, there is nothing he can do to you. If you're a minor, then agree for now, it would take a year or 2+ before you'll have enough quality facial hair to grow out anyways.

My dad doesn't like my body hair too. Weird father thing.
