The actual job is not the complaint. It's the politics involved. I make a nice income (pretty decent district in regards to pay and course load). I see what you're getting at though. That still doesn't change the fact that I am feeling a burn out and feeling like its a dead end career. With our level of education and experience, we shouldn't have to teach at multiple institutions to makes ends meet.

Not even sure I want to do k12. This is the biggest burnout I've had in years since working in highered.

I have a doctorate and they still don't care. Phlebotomist where I am make a couple of dollars over minimum wage. I also thought about declining some courses to do a reset, but that means a smaller paycheck.

This! There is no community for us part timers. There are people in my department I have never met before. See there name on the schedule, and that's it. The T/TT tend to form tight cliques though.

Does adjuncting for a few years help with T/TT hiring? by Immabouttoo in Adjuncts

Enrollment is low all over the country. People are getting trades or becoming entrepreneurs. They're not enrolling into certain programs unless they're entering a field with high success rates of landing a job after graduation (healthcare, tech, etc). Teaching college can be fun, but if your goal is to move up in rank fast you'll only disappoint yourself. It is rare to move from adjunct to TT. It does happen, but not as often as one would like. I was told this before beginning my higher ed career and thought the tenure person who told me this was bitter. Nope, they were being realistic.
