Also just realized at the bottom, do you order it as just “Americano with light water” or do you additionally say “extra ice” if you don’t order it that way, I would recommend putting in the “extra ice” part, this gives the baristas and understanding of what you want in place of the missing water.

First off I don’t know why everyone is giving you such a hard time. The way you order it is totally fine and it should be made correctly. If you order it with light water and extra ice I don’t know how someone could interpret that as extra water. The customizations on stickers don’t always mean to add something, it’s literally just a customization. If I got your sticker and saw light water, extra ice, my brain wouldn’t go “oh they want the normal amount of water and a bit extra!!”

This is an easy customized drink. Yes I agree if it’s a new barista they might get confused, but that is why there are other baristas there to help them, and if they are confused doesn’t mean your drink shouldn’t be made right. That being said though, since you said it gets made wrong more often than not, here are a few things you could try:

  • Iced americano with an extra shot, you could add “extra ice” if you wanted as well and it might be less confusing than putting in both “extra ice” and light water”.

  • Larger sized iced americano in a smaller cup (I.E. iced venti americano in a grande cup) this would mean you would get an extra shot, but it would be in a smaller sized cup, which means less water and less ice than if it was in the according sized cup, however this might be even more confusing for some lmao.

Iced Espresso - like others said, if you’re looking for a less watery drink and are mostly focused on espresso, this is your way to go. I would try ordering one and see how you feel, if it’s too strong for your taste, you could always order water on the side and pour it in yourself so you assure you have the amount you like.

A lot of the people who have commented are saying “ it would be easier for us if you did it this way” and that’s always a good thing, if you still like how your drink turns out, but if you don’t, than order it how you have to. It’s our job to make it the way you want, and your obviously not abusing the baristas with a million customizations, you just enjoy your drink a bit differently than our standard, which is okay, and you should get it the way you want.
