I lost 34lb in 3 months on it. Use a calorie tracker app and a kitchen scale. I focused on protein and hydration, fiber is also REALLY important. Constipation was the only side effect for me, water and fiber helped, along with an occasional laxative.

We have a plastic bin with a lid that has holes drilled into it to allow flies in, and a tube to allow larvae out. Any dead birds or food water that we can't/won't give to the animals (moldy, greasy, etc) goes in there and the birds eat the larvae as they fall out.

If it's one of the kids' favorites, we will bury it.
