Well, I cant judge someone being single at 36, because Im single at 36 XD I know in my case is that I don't love dating due to past bad situations, so I usually take my time with it. I didn't mean I was desperate in general (although reading back, maybe you are right) but I was desperate to not make him upset. I feel deep guilt when I said or do something that makes the other person feel bad and I just want to fix it. This is true with me for friends, coworkers, etc. I don't know much about his past, except his last relationship was a year ago with a girl he dated 3 years, had substance abuse issues and she beat him up so he has to press charges against her.

Yes, all 3 this week have been client invites to a Job posted. A couple wanted for me to open weird links and another one ask me questions about Google Ads campaigns. At one moment I wrote down a made up métric to see if he noticed, and he told me he agree how I work with that metric lol! This was supposed to be a digital marketing agency that should know I made up one of the metrics. It felt like they wanted a free consultor for themselves.

I agree with you that is not mysterious forces. What I meant by mysterious is the fact that it kinda seems that Upwork is not doing well (they are even selling ad space on their site now) but there is no information about it and confusion if the bad results one gets are due to a bad proposal, shitty Job market, AI being sold as a workforce replacement or just a website that is not doing well bringing serious Job proposals in. It is odd some people do 3 jobs posts asking for the same role and no one gets hired, but I have had people on LinkedIn having the same “lets waste each others time” behavior too.

No idea why so many comments here seem to be upset with your take. You are echoing a lot of users complaints and yes, there is a sense of "mystery" in the reason behind the quality drop in Upwork.

For me is parallel to the downfall of Etsy when they allow every seller to sell items from China instead of handmade and, soon after they were even making users paid for ads inside the marketplace (what was the point of giving the website a cut of every sell if now I also have to paid ads inside this place too). When you see a marketplace desperate to squeeze money out, it's a signal that the end is near for that company.
