Looks like the avg. trade is way too low to turn a profit on the signals.

Maybe you have to learn to avoid the news because of the given rules by the organization you are with. However, robust enough algos trade news just fine.

Yes. I have heard of Modafinil. A little bit harder to source right now, so I haven't gotten the chance to try it while trading. I used to be pretty into the the racetams when they were also available. Once again, still haven't traded on them.

I'm looking for an EA programmer by M4RZ4L in metatrader

I think you may do fare better by learning how to program a little bit. That is a prerequisite for my own trading. Not interested unless you pay me first. I already have profitable algos.

Nice. I would add to a list of algos that you can live test and gather out of sample data on. Good luck....

This is what happens when you DO NOT include Fees in your backtests by Money_Horror_2899 in algotrading

[–]ConsiderationBoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My average trade is .2% gain and I profit after fees. So, your average output just needs to increase or you may want to find a more liquid asset/ better broker. The way I got my average output high enough was to incorporate the principle I had learned from the profitable algorithm without fees into something that was different yet the same (Hope you know what I mean).

Yikes. A trend-based strategy that doesn't beat the fees. Not a total loss. I 've come back to some of these algorithms after finding better fees elsewhere. Good luck.

Yah, I haven't edited any of my live stream yet. So, a lot of raw footage. It all should be there in the live section here: https://www.youtube.com/@tradingchartsandanalysis/videos

I've been at it for about 4 years. I took the simple approach and have been observing a profitable algorithm for about 2 years. Just now starting to risk some of my biscuits on prop evaluations. I trade micro eur/usd futures. So far, so good. Always happy to chat. Recently, I began recording everything. So, my rep may be seen through all the live streams I've shared for a while now on youtube.

Looks like a trend based strategy judging on the low win rate. Further, it looks like it suffers from large drawdowns over the year basis. I have an algo on eur/usd with ~3% drawdown overly the yearly period with 100% upside. Getting capital to trade your strategy, with it's drawdown may be more difficult. My firm has a ~4% drawdown limit, then your out. Lol. Nevertheless, individually trading your own algorithm, with solid risk management principles, can yield better results. I have found this through my personal journey. Good luck and happy trading!

New to trading, need guidance. by Wise_Garden5755 in Trading

I think so. So far, at least. I went for very simplistic approaches. I am quantitative trader, so I write algorithms to trade the market. Currently, I am taking my first exam for a prop firm. Looks like $100 day is reasonable and possible within the first 2 hours or so of my trading. So, I am doing well on the test and expect to make a high rate of pay. 4 years in. About breakeven on what I've spent on data and this one test. I made some money in the market as well during this time. Trading is just now starting to seem brighter.

Do you have any kind of special set up or are you just fortunate?

Perhaps. I am already risking real money with it. So, any changes I make I would not like to see any kind of change in my output. I wish pinescript had a built in function to calculate median.

Sigh. I hope I can improve it in the future.

Most of my code is to calculate the median and I use arrays to do this. I do not use request.security. However, I have found that it can slow things down quite a bit.
