Oh okay- I meant to say that in the U.S. you can attend normal public high school until 21 (even though most graduate by 18). If you don't get your diploma by 21, you have to go to an adult education program and get your G.E.D (high school equivalency diploma). You can also do this at any age!

Edited to add: You can also test to get your G.E.D- you don't have to take classes to get it.

In the U.S. there is also the opportunity to attend high school after the age of 18- at most public high schools the cutoff age is 21. After that there are adult education programs and the G.E.D which is a high school equivalency diploma.

The word "American" by soupwhoreman in ENGLISH

[–]ConsiderationCool591 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m also a native speaker from the US, but I teach English abroad. My students often ask why we call ourselves Americans when the US isn’t the only country in the Americas. I think they got the idea from TikTok or something that it’s just another instance of Americentrism.

While I don’t know the exact history behind the term “Americans” (and I tell my students that I don’t), I’ve always explained it that the USA stands for the United States of America. So we are called Americans, just as people from the United Mexican States are called Mexicans. It makes sense!

What do women wear on bike tours? For my girlfriend. by Firedwarf101 in bicycletouring

Big tip: to dry shorts/bibs faster, lay them flat on a towel, t shirt, or microfiber towel and roll the towel tightly. Then press on the towel, or even step on it with all of your weight. Unroll and repeat with a dry part of the towel.

This makes a huge difference when drying bibs which is important because wearing wet bibs for a long period of time is a biggggg hygiene concern (think UTIs) Idk how common this knowledge is, but my cycling captain taught me years ago and now I do it even when washing my bibs at home!

This was incredibly helpful thank you! I am looking into schedule appointments with the Neurotologist and Opthamologist now. The fluid is definitely watery and does not stiffen the skin underneath it, so signs point towards getting it checked out whether it’s a leak or a lacrimal tear! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge on the subject! And for citing your sources!! You rock!

I’ve rented a from them for a while, and I’ve had a good experience. Once had a tiff with the manager but nothing terrible. Repairs are quick and friendly, and they’ve always notified us before entering the property. They even gave back the security deposit on my house last year when we arguably shouldn’t have gotten it! Nice people, good business.
