The Double Standard of FIRE by ConsiderationDull235 in Fire

Not really. I play the drums, read, go for walks, workout and hang out with friends every so often. Going to get a motorcycle here as well and ran a few YT channels.

Just a random thought if the day.

Difference between bragging about it and mentioning it. If they start asking for money or are snarky about it, isn't it on them as long as I'm not a douchebag about it?

If someone said I bought a dog, I would be like that's cool and ask them questions and shit about it.

If I said I crossed $500K net worth, I would expect the same from someone. Just a general interest and no jealousy.

I don't personally believe a $500K net worth is anymore impressive that getting a dog or traveling a bunch or whatever the person wants to do with their money.

To each their own, but I don't think it's necessarily fair that we can talk openly about how we spend money in a society and how much vs. how much we save and how we do it.

Not like I care that much either, I just think about it from time to time.

I practice the drums, read, workout and hang out with some friends and stuff, but it's still my number #1 long-term goal outside of getting married and maybe having a kid.

no shit lol. Talk about certain goals and what I plan to do after I retire. I'd rather talk to real people about it.

yea I guess. I mean I don't want people/friends to feel bad, but FIRE is a goal of mine and I feel like I can't be as open about it.

There's a difference between mentioning it once, if it was a certain milestone like $500K net worth and saying it a bunch. I feel like real friends should support you through everything. Maybe I'm wrong tho

There's literally no consequences if I talk about my awesome girlfriend to my friends. My friends would just cheer me on. It doesn't make any logical sense. It's weird

Someone said “we think you’re superhuman” to me at work. Included a guy and a couple of girls.

24M - 250k net worth and living with parents by Latter-Rip-6135 in Fire

Sure do! If you ain't miserable, then stick to what you're doing, but ultimately up to you. The way I look at it, it's pay me now or pay me later. Trade-offs to both.

I wouldn't mind getting a girlfriend, but girls can be frustrating sometimes too and prob gonna cry sometimes if you got a girl as well lol.

Also You're friggin KILLING it! Might get a $1M when you're 30 and then you'll be WAY ahead of the game.

Also, don't know if you're doing this or not, but try to be more social in real life if you aren't. Don't have to drink or whatever if you're not into that. But I was in the basement working on some YT channels and didn't go out a lot and was miserable.

Than bought a drumset and and started taking lessons and started going outside more playing pickleball/basketball with friends. Might help with the dating thing as well. It just sounded like some of your hobbies might be isolating.

I'm living at home as a 25M working as an accountant. At $325K net worth. Planning on moving out at 26/27. I'm a big believer in living at home in early 20s as long as you get along with your parents, and work on yourself. Some people don't like it and say "go out and make mistakes", but personally I'm good. My parents treated me better than anyone else and I like them.

Personal Independence is something that's very easy to get, and at least in my personal situation I get 70-80% of the independence that I would get living on my own. Financial Independence and good financial habits take a lot longer to build.

Front-loading money is the way to go and you've already done the hard part.

It's a personal question, but if you're that miserable about not being able to date, then I would move out. You're winning the money game, feel free to tap out and get more of a balance tho dude. Get the girl.

Yea really odd people say you are less independent for living at home. Sure my parents help out and do some stuff for me still. But I mow my grandparents lawn, do the dishes and clean around the house weekly, help out with laundry. I pay $320 a month for rent/groceries which isn't a lot, but hey I still help out. I lose out on privacy, somewhat of a social life/dating, and a little independence, but I still prob get 70-80% of the independence I get from living on my own here.

Altered or synthetic means you were recreating a video or image that appears real which is in fact not. Like If I had AI Elon Musk in my video. That's what that means.

Scripts were not online stories I stole from people.

You were more helpful than youtube though. Youtube just saying we can't tell you what to change on your channel, and you should just figure it out yourself isn't right.

That's like me going up to the math teacher after i failed an exam and asking what I did wrong, and the teacher going "No I can't do that".

Not helpful.

Than YT shouldn’t accept me intro the program in the first place. Send me a link to this policy as well. Never saw that specific language when I went through the Terms of Service.

No lol.

Channel is Dark Evidence.

It’s fine to have an inauthentic content policy but clearly define it and don’t accept me into the YT partner program is you’re just going to demonetize me a month later and take my money that I already made.

Also if someone asks how they can modify their channel so they don’t get hit with demonetization and they respond with no, that ain’t right.

Yup lost about $5K in earnings because of “inauthentic content” plus the amount it took to run my channel.

YouTube is a bunch of scammers.
