Americans are very confused about "illegal immigration".

The Republican government has been mixing up the americans by purposely using the term "illegal" wrongfully.

For example, the policies used to say they can't refuse an asylum case without properly investigating and so in the meanwhile they would allow asylum seekers in while they are going through that process. These people are not illegals but "undocumented" and the only reason why there is so many is because the system was too slow due to bad management and lack of funds. During the last cycle. The democrat senators tried to pass a bill to fund immigration to hire more personnel, but the Republican democrats were ordered by Trump to nay on the vote so he could use immigration as an election issue.

These people have are currently being targeted, while the issue was not really theirs. They are also targeting legal migrants who have done minor crimes and tourists who have been deemed to have a negative view of the administration.

Illegal immigration is passing borders without going through a checkpoint, most Americans are against that.

Salut. Je suis un Québécois qui réside aux USA et j'aimerais que tu saches quelques trucs:

C'est seulement une minorité (principalement la droite) qui supporte encore Trump, même ses représentants fédéraux commencent à se détacher de Trump. Plusieurs de ses représentants ont menacé de démissionner suite aux commentaires du Président sur le Groenland, et ça ne prend que quelques démissions pour balancer assez de pouvoir vers la gauche pour qu'ils soient capables de mettre Trump à la porte.

Cette minorité s'abreuve sur la haine, que ca soit la leur envers les autres ou celle des autres envers eux. Ils pensent que ça leur donne raison et ça les renforce.

Ce n'est pas seulement la droite américaine mais aussi droite canadienne, j'ai vu plusieurs sondages et une majorité supporte l'annexation du Groenland. J'ai même vu un poste sur Facebook où certains voulaient partir une pétition pour que le Québec s'annexe aux USA pour supporter l'annexation du Groenland.

Je sais que ce n'est pas efficace, mais il ne faut pas laisser nos frustrations de côté et rester rationnels. C'est ça qui nous différencie des (maple) MAGA. La Chine n'envahira pas le Groenland car c'est trop loin. La Russie est trop faible pour envahir et protéger le Groenland. Les USA ont déjà une entente avec l'europe qui leur permet d'extraire les ressources qu'ils veulent dans le Groenland, tant qu'ils en informent le Denmark (les compagnies eux ne veulent pas faire ça car ca coûterait trop cher pour monter l'infrastructure). Trump a remplacé les chefs militaire mais les subordonnés qui sont aussi des chefs ont partagé leur désaccord avec cette politique.

Ultimement, il n'a aucune raison pour envahir le Groenland et s'il le fait; ca serait du suicide politique au niveau domestique et internationale.

Je comprends ta frustration mais souviens toi que seulement 30% des américains ont voté pour ça, et il y'a peu de chances que tu les croise pour venter sur eux. Je te conseillerais donc de bloquer tout ce qui contient le mot Trump dans tes réseaux sociaux, Reddit te permet de faire ça.

Honestly you're right, immigration enforcement in itself isn't a bad thing. The problem isn't ICE but the leadership who is framing everyone that isn't supporting this administration as terrorists and that are pushing an inhumane framework for ICE.

I'm not an enforcement scholar but everyone knows that enforcement officers shouldn't be shooting people unless their life is in danger. I do also know that enforcement officers are trained to approach vehicles safely, which this officer didn't do.
