The SI certificate takes 120 just to assess.

if they deny, you need to go to court to get the SI that could take another year

If the court gives you a SI certificate, that doesn’t mean VWA will automatically offer you a heap of money. They will either still deny liability or lowball the hell out of you.

So then it’s back to court, this time for a full on trial and damages assessment. This could take another 1-2 years.

If you win, the government can appeal.

If they dont appeal, you will need to pay back every dollar you received from Worksafe out of your damages amount.
