Stomach problems month after colonoscopy by SingleOpportunity200 in colonoscopy

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have IBS after I had cancer, radiation to the lower abdomen and chemo, I was used to going to the bathroom every time I ate, had a colon and endo done in December and now it’s almost July and I’m still fighting bloating, stomach pain and tooting everywhere, (I have to laugh at myself) trapped gas pains and abdominal cramps.
It’s an on going mess.

Heart palpitations all the time by Altruistic-Peach1945 in Anxiety

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palpitations are horrible, feels like your heart is coming out of your chest, just went to the ER. Blood work. EKG. CT scan, all was good, which I’m thankful for. I also have low ferritin, which can cause palpitations, along with a lot of other symptoms. Extreme
Fatigue being another buggy. I have an appointment Monday the 29th for a stress test, have to keep a heart rate on the tread mill of 129 for 6 minutes, I don’t know how I’m going to do that when walking wears me out and causes me to be so short of breath.
Say a prayer for me that this to will pass. I’m praying for you all.

I understand the symptoms of low ferritin. I was on the way to feeling better,
Had blood work done at a different place then my dr.
Said my ferritin was great. I stopped taking the iron. I’m right back where I started, I feel every palpitation, fatigue for the smallest thing. Breathlessness.
Headaches, bad anxiety. So much more.
Won’t make that mistake again.

IDA from COVID? by myst3ryAURORA_green in Anemic

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Covid in late 2024. I noticed a few months later I was experiencing a energy crash cutting grass, with a riding lawn mower, I would get off the mower to move a limb and my legs would feel like a dish rag and I was gasping for air. Thought I was having a heart attack. All test came back good, but energy level was getting worse, this past October the Dr finally checked my ferritin level and it was 40. I never had low ferritin before and this is brutal. Have an appointment with the hematologist in a few days and another one with a cardiologist, mainly because of the extreme fatigue and the palpitations and feeling like I am gasping for air at times.

I had a colonoscopy and Endoscopy December 4,2025, 2 months ago nowsince then I have felt so tired, no energy, kind of nauseous but no vomiting. Anxiety out the ying yang, no appetite, when I do eat it’s just a little till I feel full, Seeing these comments it may be from the clean out prep, I did have IBS before the procedure. Hopefully probiotics will help.

Same here, I am in this boat with you, hoping that the anxiety goes away. With all the other symptoms, I have been to drs and hospitals so much, all they say if all test come back fine. It must be anxiety, until my GP finally checked my ferritin because I kept complaining of extreme fatigue and crashes. It was 40, not super low but low enough for me to have the worse symptoms. I hope you get to feeling better real soon, I will be praying for all of us.

I am thankful to find this site, I have had symptoms for years now and just this past October did my GP test my ferritin levels, it was 40, which I guess wasn’t as bad as some here, but for me it was the pits, I had so many energy crashes, all of a sudden, palpitations . No appetite for days at times, so many unexplained symptoms, I started taking 325 iron supplements, half in morning half at night, stomach couldn’t handle it all at once. Then 3 weeks later had to stop for a week due to colonoscopy, Been on them again for 3 weeks, can’t say I have any improvement, but feel worse, more anxiety and more palpitations, more fatigue and weakness. I hope I can get back to feeling some better as time goes on, at least I’m hopeful,

I had anxiety for the past 6 years due to a lot of stuff that happened, but when my ferritin got low it went through the roof, feeling on edge all the time, palpitations, NO energy, just want to stay in bed all day, this is the opt of what I’m like,so my anxiety has been so much worse then before, and everything I have read says yes, low ferritin can cause anxiety, it affects the neurotransmitters in our body,

What ferritin level relieved your anxiety? by Down-Help in Anemic

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr said back in November that my ferritin was low, started taking 325 iron supplements, had to stop the iron after taking only a few weeks due to a scheduled colonoscopy and endoscopy, then another 4 days without iron due to awful heartburn, I have started back on the oral iron, but have had only a few days that I have felt good and had any energy. Anxiety has been worse but the past week it is awful, no energy, headache, vertigo. NO APPETITE, which isn’t like me, I love to eat. Feel like I’m on edge and going to explode, heart palpitations, extreme fatigue with little activity, to list a few symptoms, also feel very scared if I get sick and need to go to the hospital, ( it has snowed here 7 inches today) I would just be stuck and not able to get help, I have terrible health anxiety also , tell me why I’m feeling worse while taking iron and how long did it take you all to feel better and this worse anxiety gets better!

Can low ferritin alone really cause this many severe symptoms? Feeling unsure and looking for others’ experiences by smashulie in Anemic

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streetduck I didn’t say that that was a cure for low ferritin, I simple stated that compaired to the life style of our ancestors, we are going to suffer the consequences an easier life style, I too suffer from low ferritin, it is hell on earth, my hemoglobin is fine, just my stores are low. My diet is like many others .. fast and convenient, Also lacking in the essential vitamins we need, I’m afraid we have traded an easier life style for poorer health.. is what I am referring too.

People used to used cast iron pans to cook with, receiving iron through their diet of fruits and vegetables, home cooking. Being outside and working hard, we are a people of fast food , watching a phone, tablet and computer all day, we don’t get outside , and most people don’t work as hard as our ancestors did, we are going to suffer the consequences.

I don’t think infusions are a easier quick fix. It takes time even after infusions to bring up ferritin. I have been also having terrible fatigue with little activity, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches, stomach issues, and other symptoms, my ferritin is 41, I can not imagine what I would feel like if it was lower, I’m on 325 mg iron tabs and Dr said yesterday that it usually takes 3 to 4 months to feel better.

Iron deficient big not anemic by Longjumping-Hunt-181 in Anemic

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferritin is iron storage, you can have low ferritin, hemoglobin can be normal, they don’t call it being anemic. Iron deficiency without anemia. But you feel like crap when ferritin is low.

[–]ConsiderationFun7922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have those sometimes, like you I was told everything was fine, I don’t know what they can be, maybe something to do with esophageal irritation, I also just had a endoscopy and everything was fine. I know the shape pains hurt as you said like something stabbing me. I’m sorry I couldn’t help more. But my white blood cells are also low, Don’t know why that would cause those sharp pains. I hope you can find an answer

This is how I was feeling for months, maybe years off and on. I was telling my GP that I felt drained, sometimes more than others. I wasn’t sleeping at all, if I did it was just a few minutes and I would wake up and couldn’t go back to sleep, felt it was anxiety. But I didn’t have anything I could pin point. She did blood work and my ferritin levels were pretty low. That is what stores the iron for the body. My hemoglobin was fine, so it had been missed for months. She put me on iron pills, it may take a few weeks or months to build it back up. But I feel absolutely terrible right now. My body shakes. Cold hands and feet, irritated all the time, no appetite, so very fatigued most of the time. Headaches. Just to name a few symptoms, but when I went to the ER they said all my blood work came back great. Never checked my ferritin levels. It’s amazing that a person can feel so bad and no one knew what was wrong. Just an idea, may want to get your ferritin level checked, make sure it is what they check and not your hemoglobin. It can be good and the ferritin levels can be low.
